Purchased A Pool Cover from Monarch

by Taiyhen

Purchased a pool cover from Monarch Pools & Spas. The staff was very rude and not helpful at all. Dan Arnold was quick to take my down payment for the pool safety cover in the form of a credit card. However, when I returned to pay the balance using the same credit card I was told that they do not accept credit cards....I'm confused because they gladly accepted my $400.00 payment from my credit card. Never did they once tell me the balance was cash only. Which ok no problem I have the cash. However, when I called to inquire about the mix up Dan was very rude, he yelled at me and even hung up the phone on me. That's not the type of service I expect especially after paying $1150.00 for a pool cover. By the way when the cover arrived it didn't even fit properly, its way too big. It looks horrible. I contacted Monarch about the ill fitting cover, they sent someone to re-measure the pool and did nothing else. It's been two months and I'm still trying to get them to do something about this expensive cover that does not fit my pool properly. I would never purchase anything again from Monarch Pools & Spas. Plus after doing some research I found that they don't offer the best prices in town. Stay away from Dan in Monarch Pools.

BAD POOL OPENING

by cerme

We had Monarch open our pool and also install a new filter. Bad installers, took off pool cover, upt in 3 gal. of shock, left garbage from filter and opening, did not pull up a small portion of the liner that was slipping (I know that this is part of the opening process). We gave them over$1200.00 for their services/filter and did not receive anywhere near that. They do not know what they are doing, service people were rude and dirty. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, and suggest no one else use them either. BEWARE!

Our inground pool turned out GREAT!!!

by jsheeley

We had Monarch install a 16x32 inground pool a few years ago at our last house in Accord NY. It turned out beautiful. We had it installed in the fall since the summer is Monarch's busiest season. This allowed them to give us complete attention. The only problem we incountered was from the pool liner manufacturer. The liner was delayed for 10 days. This slowed the installation slightly and was really not a big deal . Monarch was very professional and covered every detail with no hidden surprises or costs we were unaware of.

We have since sold this house. The pool was a great asset when it came to our selling price! We have now settled into our newly built home. We will have another pool installed when the time is right and we will most likely shop at Monarch pools. The swimming pool dealers here in the hudson valley are way too expensive! At the time of our last pool Monarch was the most reasonable around.

FYI - Installing an inground pool is a major undertaking. To have it done right give the installers plenty of time to complete the project. You shouldn't plan on using the pool the same season that it's being installed. We had our pool installed in the fall to avoid the summer rush. this also allowed the ground around the pool to settle over the winter. This is best to avoid concrete patios from cracking due to ground settling. With any construction project there is always the possibility for something to go wrong. As the home owner it is up to you to voice your concerns and do your homework.

Good luck
