Slightly weathered but reasonable and clean.

The Scene
This hotel is located on the busy and not-always-aesthetically-pleasing 34th Street. It is a good bet if you're going to a sporting event or concert at Madison Square Garden. It's also great for shopping at Macy's or for those who want to be near Penn Station. The service is laid-back and friendly. The lobby, though small, is welcoming and has Internet access.

The Details
Because the property is in such a compacted part of the city and is dwarfed by the surrounding buildings, the guest rooms tend to be small and dark. Views of a dank courtyard or a functionalist building across the street are a bit tough on the eyes. Still, the rooms themselves are pleasant. Large TVs have all the cable channels, and refrigerator offer a modicum of convenience.

Great for shopping!

It was amazin' to stay at this Hotel..so close to everything...even next to Macy's....I met a lot of nice guys there! Great for singles and shoppers!

• Pros: location, inexpensive, convenient
• Cons: noisy, small, no parking
