I have used White Glove Elite on several occassions over the last 10 years to fill in between regular cleaning help, and have always been extremely satisfied. I recently called them as I was having trouble nailing down more permanent help and the apartment with two kids and three cats was in dire need of attention. the cleaner arrived on time (even in terrible weather and after getting lost) and went right to work with no fuss. He cleaned EVERY INCH of the apartment, organized the Thomas tracks as well as all the other toys and books, scrubbed, mopped and polished everything. the apartment glowed when he returned. I'm still finding nifty things he did and creative ways he organized our mess. I'm one of those people who love when someone else makes my clutter go away, and away it went! If my regular cleaning lady hadn't resurfaced after a hiatus of three weeks, I'd make this guy permanent. Other's may find this service unpredictable, but I give it an A+.

I laughed when I read the below review because it so uncannily described my most recent experience. I have hired cleaners from White Glove Elite in the past with very positive results. Then, last week, our cleaner showed up and had an attitude from the moment she walked in the door. After 2 hours she had finished only our kitchen, although coincidentally my nanny was out for about 1.5 hours of those 2. After 4.5 hours she had finished our kitchen and 1 bedroom. When I complained to the company, they told me she was "one of [their] best cleaners" and that I had to pay her the full amount. They never offered me a fix of any sort. When my nanny gave the cleaner the check to the nearest 15minutes (why round up when someone hasn't done the job?) she starting screaming, saying we were petty people and refusing to leave. My husband had to go home from work AND we had the doorman go to escort her out to be sure my kids were safe. When my husband then called the company, they apologized but, again, made no offer to remedy the situation. Suffice it to say this is the last time we will call White Glove Elite.

Pros: I have had some very good cleaners

Cons: Even one cleaner like I just had is not worth it

This was my first time having a professional house cleaning-- it was a gift to me and I was very excited and thought I researched cleaning companies well. The person who came to clean my house was nice-- I showed her around, gave her my cleaning supplies, and was home throughout the 4-hour minimum cleaning time. I checked in a few times to see if there was anything she needed. At the end of the 4-hour cleaning, only my front hall and bathroom had been cleaned. Since I was home the whole time, I heard the cleaner working so I just figured she was very slow and overly perfectionistic, so I felt confused-- I paid the full price and figured I'd talk it over with people I knew who'd had cleaning services before. Naturally, friends and family were shocked at this story and convinced me to call and complain. I called the company, who contacted the cleaning person. The response was that she didn't like my cleaning products (other than a spray bottle of 10% bleach solution and Murphy's oil soap, the rest were natural cleaning products). I told the company that I wasn't told this despite being home for the entire 4 hours-- I could have bought new products since I live 1/2 block from stores. After a few phone calls I was told that the company owner would call me back. 3 weeks from the day of the cleaning I still hadn't heard back from the owner. I was told that the owner was away for several months. Surprised, I was told something along the lines of 'we don't have to tell you every detail of the owners' schedule'... I asked for $30 cash back (I paid $88 for the 4 hours). They said all they could give me was 1 1/2 hrs of credit. There is a 4-hr minimum, so after explaining that the credit was worthless to me since I no longer wanted to do business with them, they still offered no other options. Final word on my experience- Poor and rude customer service. Unwilling to remedy an obvious problem with a reasonable (and cheap-- $30!) solution.

Pros: Quick and easy to schedule a cleaner, cleaner was pleasant

Cons: only cleaned front hall and bathroom in 4-hour time slot, poor customer service to remedy this problem

I've had good experiences with White Glove. I did have a serious problem with one cleaner they sent. What distinguished White Glove is that they stepped up and took care of the problem, honorably and very graciously. That distinguishes White Glove from most businesses in New York, and earned my loyalty. I will continue to use them. My subsequent experiences have been excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend them. That doesn't mean all cleaners will be perfect, that's just not possible, or likely, here or anywhere. But they are good people and try hard, and are honest. Better than the competition. A++

I've been using White Glove off and on for a year and the cleaner that I usually request came for a special clean today to get me ready for my weekend holiday party. I asked her stay longer than the usual 4 hours to help me with a few extra things like organizing and putting out some dishes and putting out candles, etc. She has always been meticulous and so thoro but she really pulled through for me...I love this service and I am so happy to recommend them now which I've been meaning to do for some time. I can now kick back with a glass of wine knowing I'm clean and set for tomorrow's party. LOVE them.

Pros: deatils details

Cons: none!

I am writing this review after my thrid cleaning with White Glove Elite. I've been very, very happy with my last two cleanings, and today, my third, was so wonderful I am inspired to write a review. The past few times I've called it was because our house was simply out of control and I needed soemone to come in a do a deep clean for me. As we both manage careers and three children I loved the job done, but was also harried enough to just care that someone had done what we could not. Today, I had them come for a pre-holiday clean, and the cleaning was stunning. The cleaner did behind my toilet, picked up every picture frame and dusted it, and left such caring touches. She has gotten my floors spotless, my feet are completely clean after being barefoot all evening even with my children running around. The office staff have always been great, and I cannot wait to have this treat again. And, by the way, who takes the time to wipe the light sockets without being asked? They live up to their status as "Best of New York".

Pros: Fantastic cleaning, great office staff

Cons: NONE!

I made it very clear when I scheduled my appointment that I had a lot of sawdust in my apartment due to the fact that my floors were just redone. They assured me that they had someone great to clean my apartment. That she would do a real detailed cleaning and they understood my needs. Well to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The french doors in my apartment had the same film of sawdust on them when I got home as they did when I left in the morning. She didn't even touch them! Also, she never even cleaned my hard wood floors, the bottle of wood cleaner I bought was never opened). I called White Glove immediately to convey my level of disappointment and they told me they would speak to the housekeeper and call me back. I'm still waiting for their call!!!!! And they call themselves a "professional service"?

I have very high standards when it comes to cleaning, so I have become resigned to the fact that there is a certain amount of disappointment to be expected when having my apartment cleaned by a service...Not so with this service. I used them because I heard that some of their cleaners are out-of-work actors and I thought I'd rather support the arts than a potentially illegal alien. I was happy to find that my cleaner took my specific requests without having a chip on her shoulder about it (trust me, so many do). I was happier still to see that she took the initiative to do a few extra things like washing the inside of my garbage can and organizing my shoes on the floor of my closet. Then I got a call a few days later to follow up and make sure I was pleased with the job...very classy.

Pros: intelligent staff

I used them three times, each time worse than before until I finally sent the last cleaning lady packing a full hour early (with pay). Disaster from beginning to end, starting with her refusing to vacuum the floor before mopping (yes, she mopped over the dust), to dragging furniture and scratching my hardwood floors to wiping the TV, windows, and photos with a waxed cloth for furniture, leaving a waxy coat on everything! And before I could stop her, she cleaned the bathroom tile with Murphy's Oil Soap. But the worst was her insistence that she was one of their best cleaners. To top it off, when I called to complain I was told it must have been a "personality issue". Never again.

Cons: Overpriced, lazy, poorly trained workers

HORRIFIC. Hired for a move-in cleaning. Got here and NOTHING WAS CLEAN. She must have been on her cell the whole time. I spent the next month cleaning what they did not, while trying to unpack. I am so disappointed, also b/c I used them from New York's Magazine "Best in NY". Well, try WORST in NY. We even called to see what happened, got promised a call back and never heard a word. BEWARE! And FYI earlier review, $22/hour, not $19 and you must supply ALL cleaning supplies. Don't know why, since they don't use them.
