Wolcott Hotel
by burtongq5
The Wolcott was in a prime location close to Times Square and provided a great stay for myself and my girlfriend who was celebrating her 30th birthday. It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at SweetHotelDeals.us They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
A pleasant surprise
by sharry8958
On entering the hotel my wife and I, on a four-day booking, were somewhat taken aback by the superb decor of the foyer - essentially baroque with impressive chandeliers and plush chairs. It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at SweetHotelDeals.us They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

This hotel was a great experience for me. A wonderful hotel with full facilities and a selection of fabulous ameneties that make it different from others. The management is also very helpful and I would reserve a room here again.

My familiy usually stays here when they're in town visiting me. Nice room with a comfy bed, good looking lobby and a convenient location. It's the perfect home-away-from-home when you're visiting the Big Apple!
Great place for a New York stay
by AprilImage
It would be middling anywhere else, but it was quite a deal for New York. We go up to New York a lot, and frequently use Hotwire. For this trip, hotel prices seemed very high, so we decided on this place when we found it on Orbitz
Antique lobby in midtown

I recommend the Wolcott Hotel for its central location, moderate prices, and above all for its century old lobby decor. Even the pendulum clock in the marble lobby is from the last century.
And its cozy English style lobbyis a great place to meet people.
best budget hotel
by dummud
You get a cheaper rate if you reserve via telephone. It's really nice here, the photos don't do it justice, the staff is friendly and well trained. There are late nite eats when you can't sleep, right around the corner, also cheap souveneirs for folks back home, around the corner, the empire state building is nearby, it takes about 2 minutes to walk there. It's great here, no problems at all, and no problem with parking (they validat/discount at an assigned garage nearby). Start exploring before you get a cab, so much is nearby. The rooms are so clean, and the beds are comfortable. Believe me on the following, the rooms are not small, surprise, surprise, we were ready for tiny. Plus you get a tub. For 180/night and superlative service, WOW.
these reviews led me to wolcott, so, since july, I imagine it's still great.
no fear, this is new york at it's finest, on a budget ofcourse
(otherwise, take your chances, you pay less, you wil get less, and isn't safety in the big apple your main concern.
I loved it, (and I'm damn picky)
good luck
- Pros: appearance, location, style, comfort, noninvasive atmosphere, nyorkish, cool
- Cons: don't ya' wish it was 50.00/night, ya could stay in jersey for a 100 and take ferry, not me!
