I took a friend from out of town there last night. We went downstairs first where the manager not only looked unhappy to be there, but wasn't very friendly. We strolled to the back shoe section, where my friend made a friendly joke about one of the boots. The salesguy gave us an annoyed look and then went to the back room without asking us if we needed help. Downstairs was a gloomy experience. HOWEVER, we went upstairs to where Jimmy is and it was completely different. We met and talked with Jimmy, he posed for pictures with us, and even let my 12 yr-old daughter try on a top hat that Slash autographed. Don't think it's just punk rockers that shop the store - I was suprised to see Jane Fonda's autographed pic behind the register. Upstairs w/Jimmy rocks!

You will totally fall in love with this place. The clothes are great and so much fun... I love vinyl and animal prints! The staff is very friendly and really make you feel comfortable just browsing around. You totally feel like you belong here; no pressure, no suggestive selling, it feels like you are hanging out in your raddest friends closet!

Pros: Laid-back Atmosphere, Friendly staff

Cons: not a huge selection in larger sizes

This was my first time in NYC and a friend wanted me to go to Trash & Vadville for a cool shirt. I'm not your typical punk or rock chick ( black lady with designer clothes), however I love style in every form. That's exactly what I got there. The staff is so helpful and kind, the extremely hot Jimmy helped me find the perfect gift for my friend, even trying on the shirts for me to show how they looked. Too cool. If you are looking for the real thing in quality style this is the store to visit. Great clothes and a brilliant staff.

Pros: Jimmy Webb(so hot) and the staff. Great people!

Cons: Getting lost in the NYC heat.

Great selection of unique and colorful pants, skirts, shirts, jackets, etc. Rare band shirts can be found in the back of the store and downstairs are unique shoes ranging from creepers to heels to boots to other sneakers. The employees are very friendly.

Pros: Helpful Salespeople, Variety, Organized

Cons: Pricey

This place has been here for many, many years, through the cool punk period of the neighborhood, the brief uncool gentrification period and now the semi-revival. Every time I go here, it feels like home, it hasn't really changed. The clothes aren't as perverted as they used to be, but still are pretty good. And the shoes downstairs, my god, the SHOES! The staff are friendlier than they used to be in the eighties...Look for Jimmy, that sweet lanky lad with the ratty blond hair who looks like one of the New York Dolls. He will set you right.

Pros: vinyl, french maid uniforms, nurse outfits

Cons: not much rubber

trash and vaudeville is the ideal store for someone into the "goth" or "punk" scene. i have shopped there on several occasions and loved it. there is a LARGE selection of shoes in trash from demonia boots to converse sneakers. in vaudeville is a huge vareity of the most awesome and strange clothes...though the store is a bit pricey its worth it!

Pros: lots of cloths

I looked up this store online and had to go there! Trash, which is downstairs from Vaudeville, had a giant shoe selection in the back, and clothes such as neon mesh shirts, vinyl pants and black lace shirts. Trash had more fetishy clothes, and it was fun to look at, but they were expensive. I fell in LOVE with Vaudeville-it had bondage pants, skirts with lace, and a lot of old-school punk-type clothing. The people that worked there were really nice and friendly, and a girl working at the counter said they get a lot of rock stars, such as Des from the Misfits and Green Day!! I will definately go back there-even if some of the clothes are a little expensive, it is impossible to not buy something in either of those stores :) Awesome huge selection-not the kind of stuff you find in the average mall.

Pros: huge selection, really nice workers, near other cool shops

Cons: expensive
