WORST PLACE IN THE WORLD!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY
by CatAndDogs
I had been a regular at Reservoir for almost 11 years but after my last few HORRIBLE experiences there- I will NEVER return.
I have never experienced such rudeness of behalf of such low-class people as I have in that bar. The waiters are total a**holes and were incredibly rude to friends of mine who simply asked where their drinks were. The "owner" is an old, drunk, rude man- and his staff mirror his personality exactly.
ya'll best save yourself the money, attitude (this isn't meatpacking afterall) and go somewhere else where you won't get served a bowl of re-fried oil by a sour-faced waiteress/bar-tender!!!
- Pros: NOTHING
- Cons: EVERYTHING
Fantastic Steelers bar!
by CSMobileUser2
I am a current New Yorker originally from Pittsburgh. If you're like me and looking for a place to watch the Steeler games, look no further!! It's just like being back in steeler nation. Good company and cheap bar food (sunday and monday night 30 cent wing specials-can't beat it!) This place has been a home away from home all season long. Highly recommended!
They turned off the Mets for the MTV video music awards.
by marca17
They turned off the Mets (against the Phillies who are trailing Mets' division lead by only one game) for the MTV video music awards. But it wasn't even the award ceremony--this bar switched channels to the red carpet fashion show that precedes the actual awards. The chalk board outside of the bar advertised the Mets game--not pre-teen shows like MTV. Children/Teen programming should be watched at home where children and teens are welcome--not in adult-only venues like a sports bar advertising baseball.
- Pros: They claim to play Mets games...
- Cons: but then turn the game off for MTV fashion shows.
HORRIBLE SERVICE! RUDE AND ABUSIVE!
by smub
NEVER GO HERE!! The staff are terrible!!!!!!!! After waiting for over 10 minutes at the bar, my friend approached the waitress and was told to just wait. When she attempted to tap the hostess on the shoulder to get attention, the hostess turned around and called her obnoxious! I was shocked...what kind of service is this!
If you are tired of being treated like garbage in places that stink- I encourage you to boycott this place like we will!!
Good place to watch the Yankees
by johnpreis
I went here to catch the Yankee game and get some lunch. The atmosphere is good but the food was great. The waffle fries are awesome.
great after work
by missashleighb
I love to come here after work for beers and to watch whatever game is on. This place is totally unassuming, and you can spend half your paycheck on the jukebox (because it costs a ton, not because the music's so great). The beer prices are good during the week, and the scene is chill. Not too many NYU students, at least not in the evenings. Turkey Reuben is good too!
DISAPPOINTED
by ifletcher
I have visited this place for almost a decade and experienced the steady decline this NY eating and drinking establishment. The Reservoir is now dead to me. THE REASONS TO GO HERE HAVE ALL DIASAPPEARED! You used to listen to awesome music, eat great wings and pub fare (reasonably priced) and even get a free round from the bartender/waitress. Now they play Bobbie Brown too loud (when the speakers work), they charge $19 for a watered down pitcher of domestic beer, and they have a ridiculous wing pricing system - extra $2 if you order 10 and 10 instead of 20 wings??? They also have the worst service - 45 minutes for 10 wings??? Historically, the most reliable aspect of the Resevoir was the Turkey and Swiss sandwich. This sandwich has now been reduced to a buttery piece of crap.
- Pros: location
- Cons: price, music, service
A local favorite
by prgal
I am not certain why past reviewers have given such low marks for this neighborhood bar that draws a nice crowd. Sure, you'll find NYU grads around the pool table- what bar doesnt; however, the general audience consists of a mix of young grads and professionals with a taste for great sports, a friendly atmoshpere and above par bar food. This is certainly not a date place-- its just your better than average neighborhood sports bar.
Dreary
by snoopycomehome
Depressing little hole with greasy diner food. Mostly cops and nyu kids arguing over a no room to play pool table.
Thug bouncers and attitude
by kallyeg
Pushy, obnoxious meathead doormen every night of the week kind of destroy the idea that this used to be a nice little place to eat.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Tough guy doorman, Service, Wait
