Don't waste your time or your money
by arin83
who would want to waste their time waiting in line to pay for RIDICULOUSLY over priced drinks ( $10 for a bottle of beer and $13 for a well cocktail... watch that the bartenders don't overcharge you either) and obnoxious bouncers who yell at you to sit down, don't stand there, etc. We had a group of 20+ go for a birthday party and the staff made it feel like it was a privilege to be there, when they should have been the ones to be appreciative of our business. I would not recommend wasting your time or money at this bar when there are plenty of finer establishments in Manhattan with cheaper drinks, pleasant employees and better looking people.
- Pros: none
- Cons: price drinks, rude and unattractive staff
Rude & Unprofessional Management
by KatieE606
The manager is absolutely insanely unprofessional and rude - borderline abusive to customers. The manager has absolutely no people skills and will harass customers in a frenzy he creates. Obviously, he can't handle the job stress or else he wouldn't behave falling down Michael Douglas style.
Furthermore, when you would like to submit a formal complaint to the establishment. He will not provide his actual name rather than go by the name of "Steve", while no one on the staff will provide his identity either. Obviously, he does not appreciate the customers who pay his salary and has some serious anger issues. Never go here. I feel sorry for his staff.
- Pros: would be a nice place if someone else bought it
- Cons: Psychotic Management who abuses customers
Don't get it
by cisily
I went here for a friend's party and do not get why people like this place. It was slightly overpriced for my taste with $8 beers and at least $10 for mixed drinks and shots. The DJ played disco until about 12:30 or 1 on a Saturday night and I know many people had requested a change in music.
The outdoor area is nice, though it started raining when we were there so we had to run under cover with the masses.
- Pros: Outdoor area
- Cons: Horrible music, Overpriced drinks
TERRIBLE SERVICE
by Vik334
Alright, I have officially experienced the worst dining experience of my life. Firstly, I walk into B Bar with my buddy at around 8:00 and the place is moderately crowded. It takes us around 10 minutes to even be acknowledged for seating (Keep in mind there is no line) and there is no hostess in sight. When we are seated it takes around another ten minutes to be acknowledged at our table (btw, we are not bums off the street, we are dressed very well) Finally, I order a 4 DOLLAR COKE from our waiter along with our pizza and burger orders, and I receive the coke promptly, HOWEVER, neither myself or my buddy are given waters when my friend specifically asked for a water with ice. I'm a very lenient guy and around 45 minutes later I think "What the hell is going on here?" and a different waiter comes around with two plates of food that have nothing to do with our order and ask if its ours, to which he decline. I give them a 15 minute window to bring our food. As soon as the 15 minute window is up and I'm angrily getting up to leave, the SAME waiter who took our orders comes up and asks us if we are ready to order or ready to pay. I laugh hysterically in disgust as we'd already ordered over an hour ago from the SAME guy, I cannot emphasize this more clearly. This waiter sheepishly puts his hands on his head in utter embarrassment and we laugh our way out and I dont pay a dime for my coke. I tell the previously invisible host that I thought that you were actually supposed to receive food at restaurants before you pay and the troll murmured some incomprehensible babble.......HORRENDOUS...I only wish I could give this place negative stars
- Pros: outdoor seating
- Cons: everything about the place
Wear blinders.
by IndigoJones
I go here because I like their Pizza. People will argue this with me, but God dammit I Love it. What I do not love is what B Bar is famous for; Their Terrible Service.
I doubt that they could have picked an uglier, more mentally disabled staff than the one they presently have. Their dimwitted, out of shape waitresses are forced to wear tiny black dresses that reveal EVERYTHING. I didn't ask for a gigantic side of dimpled thigh with my pizza that I had to wait 45 min for. Upon completing my delicious pizza that I should have just had delivered to me (yes they do deliver, consider this before going) My sasquatch of a waitress hands me the the wrong bill. Maybe if she wasn't so busy chatting with the other "missing links" that work there and kept her fingers out of her long greasy hair (which should have been tied back when serving food) she could have been paying attention to the only two tables she had to take care of.
- Pros: Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!!!
- Cons: Waitstaff who are all well equipped with extra chromsomes
The comment below is BS
by PedoBear
The user below is obviously someone part of the b-bar management attempting to rectify all the negative comments. The waitresses bras stick out of their dresses, but it's not worth looking at, being that the waitresses are FUG. How can they stick so many fat ugly girls in tiny black dresses. Their saggy asses hang out the back of their skirts. The doorman is a ZEN master? Please. That place isn't going to reject anyone, it's practically falling apart.
This guy is trying to make this place sound hot and exclusive. Well here's the truth.
The drinks are terrible and overpriced. I know this is common amongst nyc bars, but this place seriously has the worst drinks. Their tap beers taste like Fuching Lead, don't even get me started on the mojitos.
I despise their weekend crowd. A bunch of queens and Long Island guidos and underaged NYU students. Being that I live right next door, all these horrible things about the place don't stop me from going on weekday nights to catch a late night meal, which isn't good either. And during the summer, this place stinks up the whole Fuching bowery, including my apartment.
So if it's late and you need a meal, I guess it's an ok place to go since everything else is closed. If you're looking for drinks go next door and downstairs to that weird bar with the good scotch or across the street to good ol' Phebes.
- Pros: The only food thats available late night
- Cons: The kids, the guidos, the staff, the drinks, the beer, the smell.
needs a face lift, but overall still looking good
by bethdee
The doorman is always the first obstacle at a bar, especially an institution like B-bar (or B-bra as i sometimes like to call it, because you can always see the waitresses bra's. really look around you... they are everywhere) . Anyway, the doorman is a zen master, he went from a**hole to angel in the the blink of an eye. And it was strange... he seemed to kick out everyone i was making fun of in line. So ...if you want to get into this place on a Saturday night, be f***ing nice... respect the zen master,. and your golden like Buddha. I'm sorry i can't say much about the time i actually spent inside of there, i got drunk so fast , they make the drinks realllly strong. It's amazing.GO. drink your face off and get a burrito.
- Pros: women who look like them
- Cons: prices
The management is driving customers away
by adinner
When my boyfriend and I tried to get the attention of the hostess she just gestured over towards the seating area outside. Then the manager ( a mean looking bo legged blond woman with lots of tatoos) sneered at us and asked if we were planning on eating (which we were) or if we were just going to take up her table. Finally someone came over to help us. The manager kept lurching around the dinning area looking like she wanted to beat someone up. What everyone says about the service is true. It's just pathetic. And the drinks are nothing special. I love the outdoor seating area and the location but I'd think twice about going there again.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: service
Remember when Beige was good?
by Kemper212
If you do, then retain that good memory of it, because it will not happened again. Service was terrible as always, but we were expecting that, what we didn't expect was the stench of decomposing food and garbage surrounding the entire patio. The smell would make us gag in some areas. Our oversized waitress with the dress that was 2 sizes too small, cellulite hanging out of everywhere, forgot about us for about an hour, and all we wanted was our bill and our credit card back so that we could get away from the smell. We asked another waiter for our bill and finally after another 20 minutes a frazzled blonde Kat Von D wannabee, angrily handed us our bill and ran away like a chicken without a head. The fierce days of beige is over, go to Barracuda, it's so back.
Great outdoor spot
by chuckbryer
I haven't been by in a couple years. It's still a great spot on a nice summer night. The food seems to have gotten better and I like how they aren't letting in as many people on the weekends. The drink prices are high but the beer is cheap.
- Pros: fresh air, cool drinks
- Cons: prices
