- Cons: Absolutley no cons, only pros.
HUGE Burgers

This place makes some of the best burgers I've ever had. Whether you order rare or well done, the burgers are juicy and tasty. the Philly Cheesesteaks are really good too.

- Cons: Tight seating
I Tell People This Place is Terrible...
by cinematika
...so they keep going to the Shake Shack. Hands down the best burger in New York. My biggest fear everytime I walk in is that the secret will finally be out and I'll find the tiny place packed to the gills and I'll have to wait for a table (hasn't happened yet in 7 years of going there). Burgers: juicy, seasoned to perfection and delicious. Toppings plentiful. Worried that your turkey burger will be dry and mealy like so many other places, but trying to watch your red meat intake? Fear not! Vegetable patties also available. Paul's does not discriminate, they just want to serve you the most delicious burger you've ever had.
It's also a must for out of towners looking for that "authentic" NYC experience. Greasy spoon atmosphere, sassy but charming waitress, rocky tables.... check, check, and check.
- Pros: "ambience", service, great food, fresh pickles!!
- Cons: tiny like a lot of NYC places, so don't have your birthday there
AWESOME BURGERS!

Been to Paul's many times. Definitely one of the best burgers in the city. Delicious, fresh.......AWESOME!
- Pros: BURGERS!
overrated

I went to Paul?s Place a couple weeks ago after hearing/reading many good reviews and was hugely disappointed. The burger bun got too moist and ?what?s worse- gooey in a matter of minutes. The ground beef was bland because it had no salt on it. The paper-thin slice of Swiss was bland as well (domestic, most likely). The pickles were so old they were way too soft and had a weird smell and slightly bitter aftertaste. Even the lemon wedge that came with my soda was old and smelly?
- Pros: none
- Cons: bad food, below-average service
Now This is a Good Burger
by akatrk
I have had my share of bad burgers but this is NOT the case with Paul's. I usually stop here whenever my kids visit me from out of state and want a cheeseburger. I have to admit I wouldn't dine inside only because it is a little cramp to dine in but that is the only negative thing I can say about the place. Put a tip in the tip jar and hear them honk the horn. My girlfriend and I usually order to go and then walk down St. Marks from the East Village to the West Village. For Manhattan, the prices are reasonable and the burgers are big (granted not as big as Jackson Hole). You can't go wrong with this place.
- Pros: Really good burger
- Cons: Cramp seating
The best burgers anywhere!!!
by Lizziediz
I love burgers. I've eaten burgers at every self-professed "best burgers" joint. I can honestly say that without a doubt, Paul's burger was the best I've ever had. The only other place that comes close is Lou's Lunch in New Haven. I got an English burger - just a plain old burger with cheese on an English muffin. It didn't need a thing. The taste of the meat was amazing. I'm surprised they didn't have a cow carcass in the back room (or maybe they did - hey it's the East Village!) because the meat tasted so fresh. And yes, the burgers are going to be bigger than the bun (plain old Wonder bread buns) but who wouldn't want a bigger burger??? I would totally recommend the English muffin because it's kinda crispy and doesn't get soggy with all that greasy meaty burger juice. We didn't get any fries or anything because we wanted to stuff ourselves with that damn tasty burger... but we did get a vanilla egg cream to drink that was pretty awesome. The decor is something you'd expect from the area - no frills, but still pretty cool - old neon space design on the black ceiling, diner style tables and chairs, standard lunch counter, etc. A small place but who really cares - I'd eat one of their burgers standing on my head on the street corner and it would still have a smile on my face. Worth the trip from anywhere. If you love burgers like I do, you have to go... just be forewarned - you'll never want a burger from anywhere else once you try Paul's.
Best Burger Ever ^_^ <3<3<3

I went to Paul's Burger Joint last Saturday with my boyfriend, after Self's Workout in the Park. Lol. But we were deciding on Dallas BBQ across the street or Paul's but we were tired of eating chicken at home. Best decision ever made. I had a Cheese Burger Deluxe sub. Sweet Potato fries and Boyfriend had Soul Burger Deluxe. OMG that first ever lovin' bite just melted in my mouth. It was juicy, no gristle and very very lean. After trying to fit that last bite, I was so full i skipped dinner. The prices are pretty decent for something so excellent. I recommend that you MUST have breakfast first or have some serious munchies.
PAUL'S BURGER JOINT ROCK!!!!
- Pros: NO GRISTLE,LEAN, ALMOST TASTES HEALTHY,FULFILLING,SERVICE
- Cons: HATE FOR IT TO DIGEST :(
