I was there on 1/18/08 for the first time. I was with a group of friends and requested a quiet table. We were seated in the back room and it was with was great. I loved the lamb burger and salad that I had that night. The serve was good too. I will definitely go back and bring friends.

The bar was reasonably priced and NYE was very fun there, with hats etc. The server was not that nice though... but he was stressed.

I have been going to telephone bar for years; the food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. I'm a vegetarian and enjoy great salads. They had a chopped mediterranean salad which was enormous and delicious! Unfortunately, after going there last night they have changed this salad on the menu and the replacement was awful. BAD MOVE TELEPHONE BAR!!! The new version has is just a pile of lettuce with a few cherry tomatos, some chick peas and awful croutons. I am definitely going to have to find a new place for a chopped salad!

GREAT food: this place has the best fish & chips in town. Even my boyfriend, who is not an anglophile like me, found plenty of menu items to make him happy. GREAT drinks: they have Magner's Cider on tap and, for some reason, that makes it taste even better. FUN ATMOSPHERE: I dragged some out-of-town friends there and we had a great time. We got a table outside, drank and chatted to our heart's content.

A New Yorker of European origin, I have had nothing but bad attitude from the staff of this restaurant on the two or three occasions I have met up with friends here. The worst occasion, and the final straw for me was when myself and four friends were told that we could have a table if we moved away from our stools at the bar. We were directed to a table by a member of staff, which we were then informed was reserved, and lost our seats at the bar, all this after spending upwards of $30 each on very expensive drinks over a two-hour period. When we complained about losing our seats, we were told 'get out if you don't like it, there are plenty of people who want to spend their money here, we don't need yours'. Nice. There's a great little bar two doors down!
Pros: great location
Cons: crowded, terrible service, expensive
