Great food, great prices. You'll be back!

You might accidentally walk by this place as its squeezed in between another establishment. The restaurant is tiny and has an unpretentious cozy atmosphere with a little over a dozen tables The food is consistently very good; I find myself eating there several times a month. Every friend I've brought had a really good experience and wants to come back.

For great Indian food that won't break the bank, I highly recommend you try Curry Mahal.

• Cons: can be a little cramped when its a full house.

Very slow delivery service!!!

I am writing this review very hungry as I have NOT received my food yet!!! So, to be fair, I cannot speak for their food, but I have now waited for an hour. I have NEVER had to do that in this city ever! So far, not impressed, whether the food is good or not. I even called ten minutes ago to complain and all they said was, "They'll be there in five minutes." Also, very untrue. I do not recommend this place.

Best of India Row-style restaurants

There are a lot of affordable Indian restaurants in this area, but Curry Mahal is hands down my favorite of the batch. Every dish is excellent and the staff is uniformly friendly.

Best Indian food in NYC!!

Curry Mahal is just around the corner from indian Row on 6th st, yet it feels worlds away as the people are humble, the food is delicious and the prices are soooo cheap. It is a small restaurant with wonderful atmosphere and incredible service. The water keeps on coming and that is helpful because if you ask for extra spicy-it is! Personally I prefer the mild dishes like the coconut soupd and the Motor Ponneer is the best I have tasted. My boyfriend likes the chicken curry extra, extra hot and he is crying by the end of the meal. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Get in before the secret is out and the prices go up!
