the service was not great

Food was delightful!!! But the service was not great. The food is always really good having lots of options, not just seafood choices. The chocolate fondue dessert topped off a great birthday dinner!

Read this only if you are over the age of 30

If you still value your hearing and want to have a lovely dining experience without the blaring sound of deafening music, this is NOT the place to go. Can't comment on the food; though we had reservations for four people, no one wanted to think of eating without talking. Instead, we apologized for giving up our table (hadn't yet actually sat down), went around the corner to the beautiful and quiet Union Sq. Cafe and had a wonderful meal.

A Good Recommendation

My friend recommended this place to me. And since I am very much curious about the place, without having second thought I visited this place right away. I was really surprise because the place is just so wonderful.

The decorations are simply amazing. It fits the place really well. The ambiance is really cozy and very much comfortable. For me, it relieves me from being stressed out from work.

The food are so delicious. Seafood is my favorite. I would really love to come back and dine here again. I would really reccommend this place to my friends and relatives. It's perfect for me.

If You like Live Music and Entertaining Show

I love Blue Water Grill, after dinner we went to another great place, The Griffin NYC to Michael Fredo's Wednesday night party. They have a great show and an open bar from 8-9:30. Free admission too. Michael Fredo with The Benny Reid Orchestra is a great Jazz/ Ratpack show.

WORST WAITRESS SERVICE / VERY GOOD FOOD!

FOOD - very GOOD / WAITRESS SERVICE- WORST

OK so first our waitress spoke to us in a loud voice and then proceded to go to the ordering station which was coincidentally next to our table and start talking loudly to another server. I quickly surmised that this table was not where I wanted to enjoy my late afternoon lunch with my friend. So they moved to another table without carrying our water glasses. My friend and I still have our same waitress Reagan (not 100 % on the name). We order and our salads come but no drink delivered. Regan or whatever her name is nowhere to be found so we ask a guy with a snazzy tie to bring the drink. Now we are still eating our salad and a server brings out our $27.00 entre of tuna. I am sorry to say that no I did not want to have my entre before I even finished my salad. The hostess, an extremely beautiful lady that is very nice asks is everything OK. I do tell her about the timing and they take the entre and let me finish my salad. Of course, now Reagan shows up and apologizes. Entre comes - tuna is delicious! Brocoli rabe is very bitter and tough but perhaps that is how it tastes? So after the meal, we order dessert and coffee. The waitress with her edgy reddish hair brings the coffee cups and spills coffee on both of the saucers. I ask her to replace our saucers and she comments that she usually doesn't bring the coffee as she doesn't have a steady hand. Well this to me is a little puzzling as to why you are working in a "supposedly upscale restaurant" when you have shake problems with your arms/hands. ("Did you perhaps do too much partying the night before and you are hungover and need a drink to steady your hands?" I thought) All the time this terrible service is going on, I am having a great time with my friend and laughing about life and the crazy service. To end our dining experience, our server Regan is nowhere to be found and we ask for our check. The check is brought to me (the lady) instead of my friend. The guy waiter runs the credit card and brings back the receipt. As we get up from the table and have not even stepped away from the table area, Regan shows up and starts to clear off the dessert plates as her final act of bad waitressing and manners.

This place is a joke

I'd give it less than one star for food if I could. We ordered broiled lobster, clams, and the blackened swordfish, as well as two salads. The octopus was mushy, we sent one of the lobsters back, and the swordfish tasted like a blackened can of tuna. I've had better food in school cafeterias... we walked out. Only saving grace was our wonderful server who brought a round of champagne for the admittedly awful experience. Oh and this all came to the tune of $250 for three people. Unbelieveable.
