Awesome Garden

by JakeQ at Citysearch

Stumbled across this great lounge while waiting to get into Yama last weekend. Went back again this week.

No attitude, very nice people,my date LOVED the drinks. Go early as the garden is small, grab a corner and hang out all night

  • Pros: martinis in private garden
  • Cons: hard to find, they need a sign outside

Best Mojito

by stacymills at Citysearch

I have lived in NY for the past 12 years and cant believe I just found this place! The bartender suggested one of his latest creation "the CIBAR MOJITO" cant remember all of the ingredients, basil and spiced rum is the best I can do...but Im going back to find out! 2 fireplaces, cozy couches and the cutest garden, and get this..a polite staff. The bartender made me feel so comfortable while I was waiting for my lame 40 min late first date, even though he was very busy..nice touch. Great music too!

  • Pros: really nice staff, excellent drinks, has garden too!
  • Cons: hard to find

Going Downhill

by jy106 at Citysearch

My friend had a similar poor experience with a private party,. However, private parties not withstanding,I used to enjoy going to this place due to its chill ambience and clientele. The drinks are still good, but I have gone a few times in the last couple months, and the frat-element to the scene seems to be on the rise, and the atmosphere is more obnoxious than it is chill.

Great place to have a get together...

by curleyvirgo at Citysearch

I recently planned a birthday get together at Cibar and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lenny, the manager, was very helpful and efficient both behind the bar and in greeting all my guests, making them feel welcome. The drinks are sooo good (yummy lemonade martini) and the food is surprisingly really delicious... Everyone that attended said they loved the ambiance, the laidback lounge vibe, and smoking garden... and I have to agree, which is why I chose to have my party there! If you feel like getting away from the throngs of NYC, I'd have to say this is the perfect place.

  • Pros: Friendly staff, great ambiance

Great Martinis

by gripdxd1 at Citysearch

This place has great martinis, they maybe pricey..but they are so worth it. Definitely well made. It's not the largest space, but it trendy and cool. Check it out.

  • Pros: Yummy Martini
  • Cons: Not that big, seating is limited

Great place for midweek gatherings

by enajo at Citysearch

The drinks are tasty, the atmosphere is fantastic, the seating is plush (if limited). It's a great low-key but classy option for gathering with friends after work.

  • Pros: Low-key but classy
  • Cons: If you're going with a large group, you may not have enough seats; call in advance

A small and superb hotel bar on Irving Place.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
With marble tables, an assortment of modern furnishings mixed in with love seats (by the open fire), exquisite tortoise-shell ceiling fans and a new boudoir-pink paint job, the bar at the Inn at Irving Place is the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Its hidden bamboo garden in back could be the perfect summer spot--especially following a stroll down one of New York's most romantic blocks.

Don't listen to the negative reviews!

by ri02840 at Citysearch

This place is great.....fabulous atmosphere, great drinks and very friendly and attentive service. The crowd is made up of locals, and the drinks are average priced for a martini bar ($12). This is a great place to have a few drinks after dinner with friends or with a date. Very romantic!!

Won't be back!

by fajitaeata at Citysearch

This is one of the worst places that I have ever been to. We went on a Saturday night and it was SOOO crowded you could barely walk. There was no place to sit, barely room to walk around, and my eardrums throbbed from the very LOUD music. My friends and I WILL NOT BE BACK!

  • Pros: martinis
  • Cons: crowded, small, too loud!
