Was here on a recent Saturday night. One bartender was great but the other was awful. She tried to get patrons to buy her shots all night and she wrongly accused my friend of not paying for her entire order. They also 'down pour' and replace the higher end liquor with something less expensve. Whatever was in the Patron tequila bottle was not Patron. You're better off just going to Hogs & Heifers...similar atmosphere but worth the time and money.

I've fallen in love with this place!

First of all, if you've seen the movie--don't act like you weren't warned when the women aren't your typical fake-smile-wearing bartenders. Yes, they are rude at times. Yes, they have attitudes. That's part of the gimmick. Remember the movie, where the girls would break out the hose whenever a customer would order water? Like I said--you were warned...though I have yet to see someone doused with a hose. The NY bar is a bit smaller than the one you see in the movie, and has even more of a tendency to get tight and cramped during peak hours. The greatest thing about the place? $2 cans of Rolling Rock and PBR. And that's everyday! During Happy Hour (4-7), you get 2-for-1 drinks, which means you can get trashed on $8! Can you ask for more out of life? The girls do dance on the counters and shove shots of Tequila down guys' throats. In other words, the movie portrayed the place quite accurately. The only downside? Some of the bartenders try to hustle you into buying them multiple shots. However, there are only a few girls there who fit that description, and I try to avoid them. That's the other great thing about the place: The bartenders are consistent with their schedules, and after going there a while you'll know who's working when.

• Cons: A Few Greedy Bartenders, Not Much Seating, No Food

Ugly is a pretty good description

I guess if you want a laugh you could check this bar out because it's kind of famous right? I wouldn't recommend getting anything to drink that isn't in a bottle because I'm pretty sure they water down their alcohol. The beer is okay and everything...but either the girl's can't make a proper drink or they have crappy alcohol...probably both. I didn't really find the girls attractive, like in the movie, even though they were friendly though it was in that fake give me all your money for my tips kind of way. I only saw one with a body that was somewhat worth watching dance on the bar, but I was more wondering if she was going to fall because she looked uncomfortable. It's pretty grimy and smells weird in there too. I guess that's the point but I really don't recommend this place unless you are an uneducated man or woman with no taste buds.

• Pros: amusing, worth having a look to see how ridiculous it is
• Cons: drinks, not so hot girls, dirty floors and walls

huge disappointment

Not at all what we had expected! It was small and about 100 degrees! It was crowded, but only because it's half the size you would expect it to be. There wasn?t much dancing going on and the bartenders jumped up on the bar for only part of a song. It wasn't wild or crazy or even s exy. The floor was all busted up and you had to watch to make sure you didn't fall. The drinks were not poured well and it was impossible to get to the bar and order.

• Pros: birth control in a bowl?
• Cons: everything else

Worst bar Ive ever been to!!!!

Im a bartender at a popular sports bar and im always very personable with people (obviously its my job to be) ... but the girls were ABSOLUTELY rude. I live in the east village and wanted to see if it was like the movie and it was not even close... the girls were not hot at all and when I asked the bartender that was closer to the door (which was so rude) for a certain type of vodka which she couldve been nice about and could have just told me about the different types that the bar had ...but she was so rude that she seemed annoyed and impatient by my order .. just walked away. I wanted to leave right away but I had a lot more people with me so i couldnt. I cant believe that people that work in that type of industry can expect to make money when they are that rude... showing your stomach and "chest" wont do anything for you obviously.. i always overtip because i am a bartneder as well but i didnt even want to tip you girls. if you dont want to work in that industry then dont .. because looking miserable as youre working doesnt make people comfortable! Worst place my boyfriend and I (plus tourist friends) have EVER been to!

Boasting two dart boards, a couple of video games, and an extensive collection of drunk patrons' bras hanging over the bar, Coyote Ugly has everything even the most displaced Southerner could want. But men of all kinds flock to Coyote Ugly for the eye candy, most of which is to be found behind the bar (or dancing on it, famously). A jukebox features the musical stylings of such good ol' boys as Buck Owens, David Allan Coe, and many others. Like most bars, weekends are rowdiest, when the women go buck wild, causing men to do the same.

Not so much like the movie

I am new to the east village and was very excited to hear that Coyote Ugly is only a couple blocks away from where I live. I will give them one thing, they had good drink specials. But the bartenders were not attractive and rude. Even after I tipped $10 on a beer and a shot they were still rude. And can say that the dance that they have to do on the bar is soooooo bad. I have to say for girls dancing on the bar go to 2 by 4.

Staryeyes review reads like a PR piece. Give me a break!

I haven't been there since the barmaid with the fake attitude gave me the "we don't do water" bit. If a customer orders a whiskey and a beer with a water back, you give it to him: he's there for the long haul. The place is smelly and filled with tourists who saw the lame movie. There are hundreds of real dives to go to in NYC. Coyote Ugly hasn't been real in a decade.

tricky bartenders and dirty bar

i've been there a few times and the last time i went there, one of the girls called my friend over to have a drink. she pours one shot then another. i would assume if you ask somebody if they want to drink you'd buy it for them but in the end she makes my friend pay for it. it wasnt much of a big deal until it was time to close the tab and the girl decides to argue about the tip. 2 shots and she expects to get a 20 dollar tip. first of all i aint the type of person to be scammed to have some chick come up to me and ask me to buy them a drink and not get anything out of it.

also this place stinks...literally. the odor is too much. i'd rather go to some other dive bar down the block then go back here with the skanky girls that cant even dance.

BEST BAR EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

By far the BEST/FUN night at a bar in nyc ever! I liked the movie so I figured I would venture out to te place with my guy friend to check it out for the first time. I lived in nyc for about 4 years so it was only right that I take a look at this place. The place is so awesome! The bartenders are hot and crazy!!! Sam was our bartender and shes awesome! She and Vina kept on getting me to get on the bar and dance with them and take shots!! they both made my night and were really fun..Plus the music is great if you like modern country and rock!..Also theres always something going on to keep you entertained..people taking crazy body shots with the bartenders and girls taking off their bras! Plus my favorite part is when all the bartenders got on the bar and danced to Devil gone down to georgia (just like in the movie) :) BTW if you sit at the front of the bar..be warned! You will get sprayed with water!! (also in the movie) The best night I've had and will go back for sure! I wish I had gone to this place sooner! So much fun and well worth checking out!!

• Cons: wish the place was bigger
