What users are saying:
Great value in Manhattan!
by aerogal619
The staff was very friendly, we had a spacious (spacious for NYC hotel rooms) 5 person room and our total for 5 nights was around $1,349. There were built in drawers and cabinets for all of our stuff. Because there were 5 of us trying to get ready, we had several appliances plugged in and we blew a fuse more than once. Each time, the staff tended to it promptly. We also requested extra towels, pillows, ice, ironing board, etc and were not disappointed in the service we received. It was a very clean, convenient hotel. Hallways, elevators, stairwells and lobby were all very appealing and clean. Blocks away from Ground Zero and right by several subway lines. Highly recommended!
- Pros: starbucks & convenient store downstairs!
- Cons: location is pretty far south of midtown/ times square
Moderately priced, clean rooms in charming TriBeCa.

The Scene
Built in 1850, this hotel is one of the oldest in New York, and it has a fascinating history. Abraham Lincoln slept here. So did Navy Seal teams and Salvation Army volunteers after September 11--it's just blocks from the World Trade Center site. Because of the trendy neighborhood it occupies, finding a decent bite to eat shouldn't be a problem. Some of the city's greatest restaurants are steps away. The property is also well-located for celebrity sightings.
The Details
Completely renovated in 1996, the hotel boasts 125 clean, nicely decorated rooms. The mini lofts are the most affordable and, not surprisingly, the most popular. Most rooms have ceiling fans, and all rooms have TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. Despite the lack of extras, the place is frequented by repeat guests who keep coming back for affordable rooms in one of the best parts of the city.
THEY CANCELLED MY RESERVATION FOR NO REASON
by moolala
I reserved a room for my friends 3 months in advance, and I called back for confirmation 2 wks prior to their arrival. Hotel said "Sorry your reservation has been cancelled".. I tried to argue but there was nothing they can do. What is the point of reservation at this hotel anyway?
- Cons: Obviously they don't take reservations.
2nd stay, still great
by Dawnrenee1313
Came back again to NYC and brought two more people. We stayed here again. Once again, we were not disappointed. Room was small, but it accomodated four adults just fine. Location was great for what we needed. IT WAS CLEAN. Very clean hotel for the price. The amenities were few, but a call to the front desk ALWAYS brought what we needed. Ice, Ironing board, etc. We love this place, and will most likely always stay here. You can not beat the price in NYC.The service was very friendly as well.
- Pros: Clean, Convienient, Safe
- Cons: , Small Rooms, Had to call for Ice
Great inexpensive hotel!

Cheap prices but great value. One of the cleanest hotels I've ever been to, regardless of price.

after traveling to the city approximately 6-7 times a year and staying in the cosmopolitan for an evening i do know for a fact that there are better deals and hotels for the same and sometimes less money if you are prepared to do some searching and some homework.
