Awesome place. I keep coming back for the food. I especially like their ground lamb pitza -the spices are 'just right' and it comes on a very thin crust. The decor is simple; there is a small courtyard in the back which I prefer to the seating in the front. Thus, I find it to be a great choice for a casual dinner/lunch.
Pros: delicious food
Cons: occasionally, slow service

This place served as an awful experience from the minute I walked in the door. We were seated against an open heater that burned my arm (a useless heater at that as the place was freezing). Our waiter knew absolutely nothing about the wine menu and kept telling us they didn't have what was on there. We then just ordered soda and water, which he didn't bring over. Instead we saw him in the back eating a pizza and putting his hands all over everything. When the food finally did arrive, it wasn't what we had ordered. The waiter didn't have time to properly articulate our order, but he did have time to stuff his face with his own food while handling customers food and beverage. It makes me ill to think about it. We left the restaurant. Awful service, awful experience and an unsanitary facility. I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down yet. There are lots of great restaurants in the area - avoid this one (I can't imagine it would pass an inspection anyhow).
Cons: Awful/rude waitstaff - unsanitary restaurant - hazardous!

My boyfriend and i went for a simple dinner which ended up to be a horrid experience. We were constantly ignored by the waitstaff and we waited 40 minutes to get a falafel sandwich. After 30min, the manager came by and we said we had seen no sign of the food we had ordered. His response was sarcastic and rude. When we were ready to leave we asked for the check, which didnt arrive either. Incredible. So finally we walked up to the manager and paid him what we owed without tip. As we walked out of the restaurant we heard the manager swearing at us. It was an absolutely awful experience. The service is terrible and the staff is rude.

i wouldn't visit mr. moustache if i had a subsequent appointment to keep, as the wait staff seems often frazzled and surprised that you might require some additional service performed, like say the delivery of the check. but if you can operate with that limitation, the food has a good taste and comes at a nice price point. I had lunch here yesterday and ordered the ouzie. It was the best lunch I have had in a long time.. fluffy fresh pastry filled with rice vegetables and chicken. I have been here many times and always loved it. Now after eating this I will have to come back way more often. This part of 10th st has unexpectedly become my favorite east village block.
Pros: food
Cons: decor

I used to eat felafel made with regular pita bread...the kind they serve at street stands and such. Moustache makes their own fresh pita for the felafel. Its fantastic. I can't eat the other kind anymore...I'm spoiled. So, while its an exaggeration to say that a restaurant changed your life...this one really did change my eating habits forever...
Pros: freshly baked felafel
Cons: crowded, noisy

The pitas are amazingly fresh, and their appetizers are delicious. Customer service is a little slow. If you're looking for a down to earth place, no frills, great food, reasonably priced - this is the place to go.
Pros: Reasonable, Fresh food

Have been to Moustache many many times with friends and my wife and it has never failed to thrill me. The ambience in the front of the restaurant is dark and cool with candles placed on bronze colored metallic tables at night, exposed brick, a big old mirror, wooden exterior with lots of glass windows and wood floors. The food is always great and the kitchen, with a big roaring oven fire going in plain view of the customers, is a groovy touch. Try the Turkish beer and the chicken pitza... it's out of this world. I think the garden decor should be updated to look as arty as the inside, but other than that it's a great place to bring friends or a date.
Pros: Inexpensive, Great food, Ambience

Cozy little restaurant with delicious food - love the steaming pita right out of the oven, and the ouzo, which you can't always find at middle eastern joints. Surprisingly reasonable prices too, for NYC.

If your searching for a new hole-in-the-wall place to eat, this is it! This is a fabulous inexpensive restaurant with superb food. It is small but cozy with the kitchen in almost full view. Almost like a pizza parlor, oh wait it is sort of. They serve Mediterranean style pitzas with an assortment of toppings with many vegetarian and vegan dishes. The hummus is excellent as well as all of their fresh pitas and breads. For two, I recommend getting only one pitza and two appetizers; it should be enough for a man and woman. If not full, you can get the rice pudding for dessert, which is excellent also.
Pros: inexpensive, taste
Cons: size
