Send the Owners Back To Ireland and Make Them Peel Potatos!!
by zeffer555
As a good Brit might put it...the place is full of wankers.
- Pros: Decent burger
- Cons: What a bunch of nonsense this place is.
Worst Doorman EVER.
by av550
I have been to this place many, many times (my friends are regulars) and always thought it was fine until this past weekend. After letting all of my friends into the bar, the bouncer looked at my driver's license, deemed it was fake, and said he was confiscating it. I am 26 years old, I protested, and he treated me like I was a lying criminal. After threatening to call the police, he finally got his manager over who finally let me in the bar (after ten minutes of arguing to get the ID back). Rather than apologizing, the doorman gave me dirty looks and acted like he did me a favor.
In the five years that I have been legal, I have never had my ID questioned. I have worked as a bartender in Manhattan for four years and have never seen such poor bar management/security EVER. The door man should be fired, he had no clue what he was doing and was on a total a power trip. I would have left in a heartbeat had my friend not been having his birthday there. I will not be back.
- Pros: Good bartenders
- Cons: AWFUL security. Poor management skills.
This place is AWESOME!!!!
by Olivergoeswild
Whoever wrote a bad thing about this place is crazy. The only downfall is that the door is kinda strict. I had an amazing time here. The place filled up early and i was worried for my guests. You know how it is, friends come late, but these guys hooked it up. the door was slow, but all my guests got in...and the place wasn't too crazy. the atmosphere was relaxed, but super fun, and exciting!!! i really ended up having a blast. the dj's are great...and i am definitely booking my birthday party here!
- Pros: music, strong drinks and cute guys
- Cons: coat check slow
THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN
by biscuits23
Once I went there on a whim and I saw 2 Rodents run across the floor and never wanted to return...Then I was there last night b/c of a bday party and when I went to go in the bouncer tried to say I was using a fake ID...I am 29 years old, why would I use a fake? Then he got in my face and threatned me, so I called the cops and he gave me my ID back...Then he grabbed my friend for no reason and threw him in the street into oncoming cars...This guy should be put in jail and this place should be shut down. So if you want be threatned at the door by an African American with Gold Teeth for no apparent reason, then by all means go, but I say stay away and let this place die b/c it is doing nothing for the NYC community.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Everything
one stop shop

I'll pay tribute to this aptly-named New York watering hole, where I had a rollicking good time a few weeks ago. It seemed vaguely Celtic-themed so we gravitated toward it, only to find that its magnetic pull was so strong that we were there until close. Great mix of music, people and bartenders are extra cool.
great place for a few pints
by 800pony
I always stop in for a pint or 2,pretty good beer selection.Good snacks, fish and chips, better than average bar food and the fries are very good. The bartenders are friendly and are pretty cool with the buybacks. The music is diverse but always good. This place is perfect on a saturday afternoon-not too crowded, pretty cozy.Prices are reasonable and the bathrooms are clean.
Rude doorman/bouncer
by groovedub
I went to meet up my girlfriends...I was alone and when I got there, there was no line. The doorman told me that the place was overcrowded and that I will not be able to go in. When I peeked in the place looked empty. So...i knew he was lying. I tried to reason with him and told him that my friends were waiting for me inside. He told me that if I would only be able to go in if I paid him $1000. That was so rude...and surprising to me, since it is not known as a pretentious place. I went a few times before too, and nver had any problems. I will never ever go back again after this experience.
The traditional Irish pub gets a contemporary twist.
by Contributor
In Short
One-time Tramps owner Terry Dunne returns to his Irish roots with this sleek yet casual homage to the homeland--but one that shuns all the trappings of the typical pub and creates a bar modeled after those of fashionable Dublin. A young Irish staff is on hand to pour pints of Guinness--which are left to settle for the requisite (and respectful) five minutes--but the boisterous weekend crowd is more likely to stick to vodka-sodas and SoCo lime shots. If the scene grows tiresome, there's another whole party in the swank basement lounge, Nexus, where dancing and mingling abound.
Hits: A friendly door policy means you and crew won't be interrogated, no matter the guy to girl ratio.
Misses: Get in line for the bathroom before you really have to go--by the time it's your turn, you will.
Fantastic food, good beer, and great location
by loqieu
I've been here several times, either to catch a bite with some friends or get miraculously trashed, often at the same time! This place is great and has a large enough space to accomodate large groups. The service is always very attentive, and not only will they take confusing food orders, but they will also do well at confusing short and drink combo orders too! Even better is the downstairs area which turns into a club, although frequently for an 18+ crowd which makes me feel freakishly old. Otherwise a great place to hang out at and a great places to enjoy a pint or enjoy dream enducing rounds of shots. I recommend trying the buffalo burger!
Great wings, friendly service, space to expand
by drink_club1
It's an Irish bar in the East Village. There was plenty of room for our expanding group-- and no one complained! The service was friendly, if a bit forgetful. (Seems like anyone who ordered Stella was immediately on the "forget me" list. I think it's because it was an Irish bar and Stella was too mainland Europe.) The food was typical bar food, though the Buffalo Wings had a much better than usual kick to 'em. The open floor to ceiling windows really helped the space feel like the outdoors. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers
- Pros: friendly service, great wings, space to expand
- Cons: forgetful staff
