IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A PLACE LIKE THIS! I WALKED IN FOR A BIRTHDAY DINNER AND THE BOUNCER FIRST TOLD ME TO SHUT UP BECAUSE I ASKED HIM WHY HE WAS FOLDING, SCRATCHING, TWISTING AND ALMOST BREAKING MY ID TO SEE IF IT WAS FAKE! I GO IN AN THE PLACE IS HORRIBLE, TACKY, AND SMELLS LIKE SH..... THE DRAG/HOSTESS LOOKED MISERABLE, WAS VERY RUDE AND DID NOT HELP ME AT ALL. I COULD NOT LOCATE MY FRIENDS BDAY TABLE. I ENDED UP IN THE BAR HAVING A FUNKY TASTING DRINK (AT LEAST THE DRAG/BARTENDER WAS NICE) AND EVENTUALLY WE ALL LEFT THE PLACE AND WENT TO EAT ACROSS THE STREET. IF I DONT LEAVE A REVIEW I WAS GOING TO EXPLODE...

We went to Lucky Chengs on a thursday night for a friends Birthday. Didn't know what to expect, all i'd heard was the wait staff were something to be seen to be believed. Had the Pupu Platter to start which was a great selection of seafood and skewers, steak with yummy diced potatoes for dinner and then a Lychee infused Tequilla cockail for desert!! Can't blame a guy, by this point the Waitresses were living up to their wild reputation and we were having a ball with them! But the Karaoke with Miss Tobell was the kicker, we went downstairs and I lost count of cocktails and even ended up on stage with a friend putting all our Song Star practice into action.. a star is born!! Brilliant night, you gotta try it!

  • Pros: Atmospehere, Waitresses, Yummy Food
  • Cons: One too many cocktails!

This place is one of the most disgusting places i have ever subjected myself to. I went for my cousins bachelorette party, expecting a fun night of laughs and entertainment. Instead we got money hungry "tranny wannabes" whos only care was to find a way to con you into giving up your money to be "entertained" (which they weren't even capable of doing). On top of the over priced food, horrible service, horrible entertianment, & dirty environment - the management was the worst. The coat check woman lost my ticket and argued with me for over 20 minutes that i need to prove to her somehow that it is my jacket. I called management and they told me to basically f**k off and listen to her. Furious i walked away and as i turned my back i got a hanger thrown into the back of my head...and the manager just stood there..lets just say it ended with a phone call to the police and 311 to notify them of the situation. so my suggestion to all of you. AVOID THIS DUMP AT ALL COSTS!

  • Cons: dirty, over priced, rude staff

This place has by far the WORST service I have ever received in any restaurant. Not only were the wait staff completely rude (waitress DARIA was particularly RUDE), but the management was completely disinterested in hearing out our complaints. Instead they kicked our group out of the restaurant because we did not order our food fast enough. Then they brought us a bill for an unreasonable amount of money considering we did not even get a chance to order food. Not to mention that the performances were too loud, to the point that it was impossible to hear the person next to you, and the humor was completely stale and uninteresting. Overall this is the worst place you could possibly go to, unless you enjoy being treated terribly!

Also the coat check guy mixed up the tickets to the coats, and then refused to give back my friend her coat back! He was so rude and mean about it that he brought the girl to the verge of tears. Mind u, it was 8 degrees outside.

WORST WORST WORST place. DO NOT WASTER YOUR TIME HERE.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: TERRIBLY service, management, atmosphere

Like what they say "don't set your hopes too high" I don't even know where to start, I don't really leave any comments like this but this time I know I have to for the sake of their customers and I will feel bad for people who would come here and spend a lot of money for something that's not worth it at all. I eat out a lot, love food, and been to a lot of great restaurants in NYC but this place doesn't even come close. Went here as a group to celebrate my friends birthday. Came on time 'cause I heard they don't sit an incomplete party. Here's how I would describe it:

NEIGHBORHOOD: Dirty, Nasty, Not so convenient

BAR: which is the 1st thing you will see as soon as you walk-in is a very tiny and dark place-u don't feel

welcome at all.

DINING ROOM: It couldn't get any darker, you wouln't see your food...I like to see my food especially in

a place where I haven't tried before. They only turn some lights on when introducing some of the

trying hard performers. Too crowded which is surprising, not a lot of room.

MEAL: Our waitress "Michelle" she was nice and friendly but before taking our orders she had to say get

the $40 per person 'cause the food is a lot better than the $32 and $36 ones, which I didn't think it

would make any difference. Ended up getting $40 per person anyway thinking it's better!

FOOD: nothing special..to me it's just like one of the ordinary chinese restaurants not even as delicious as

the chinese restaurant that I know in Chinatown. I think it's a rip off..they take advantage of their

customers.

SHOW: I can't even call that a show...just some trash talking and desperate comedians who walk around

with their underwear or some funny costume ( their not real girls by

the way). Awful.

I don't care how much I pay for my food as long as the food is great, the service and the place. It has to be worth it. LUCKY CHENGS...IT'S A SHAME!!!

  • Pros: The service and that's about it
  • Cons: Ambience, Neighborhood, The Show, The Price

I agree w/a previous review. The place is a dump. Good thing it's very dark there, or it probably wouldn've been hideous. It reminds me of an assembly line. Get you in, bring your food, and get you out. Then onto the next suckers. It's so crowded in there, it feels like they cramp people in to make money. The only thing the "waitresses" do is take your order, they don't even bring you your food, the guys with shirts that say "staff" on them bring your food. The show was very short, and not what I expected. The stage is a piece a 4X4 piece of plywood, and because it's so cramped, they had to have 2 "hosts", once in our room, and one in the back room. The show was not what I was expecting, espeically when one of the woman audience volunteers, was doing a lap dance Ifor a male audience volunteer, and proceed to remove her top! I

wish I had read reviews beforehand, I probably would've gone to a male revue, and gotten my money's worth.

The food is good, don't get me wrong, but the prices are outrageous, they make you think that you're paying only $32 for your "prix fix" meal, but then the add'l price is added on depending on the course you order, and it's not even worth it. Plus, to top it off, they "suggest" how much you need to leave for a tip!! Needless to say ,I DID NOT! There were about 6 bachelorette parties there, which were distracting.

The bathroom was another story, my girlfriend went by herself, and what seemed to be about 15 minutes, I was getting worried, it seemed that it was in the basement, which was very dark, and there was an attendant, when she was done, apparently it was assumed that she would tip her, but my girlfriend had gone down w/o any $$. She said that this attendant was scary. She was one of the "waitresses".

The worst part was when at the end of the show, a large clear envelopes were handed out to every table, for donations for the performers. But they didn't even do anything! There were really only 2 performers.

  • Pros: Food is okay, but not worth it.
  • Cons: A real Dive/Dump

The legend of Lucky Cheng's lives on and continues to amaze. Took a group of friends from out of town and intown. The drinks were superb, and the pan-asian entrees were mouth watering. Amazingly fast service considering how 'slammed' they were on the night we were there. I guess Miss Lucky Cheng knows how to enterain! We'll be back, SOON!

My friends recently surprised me with my 30th birthday blast at Lucky Chengs, and it was a night full of outrageous surprises. My waitress teased me and my boyfriend all night...and to my surprise, he loved the abuse. The show was fabulous. I've never seen such amazing costumes and gorgeous bodies on these 'ladies". My girlfriends ordered me giant naughty cake and a lap dance as well. The food was real yummy. Overall it was a night I'll never forget. And all my friends are planning their next big celebrations there.

Honestly this place is a dump! First it?s next to a funeral home and the marquee is not even lit up. So I basically couldn't find it. When I looked at the entrance door and stepped into Lucky I knew something was wrong. Everything looks dirty and old especially the bar. When I walked in the hostess greeted me and I found my party. As soon as I sat down I was disgusted. They had plastic everything! The cups and plates were PLASTIC! I mean for the price we are paying I would expect something nicer. So I order a drink it was called a "dirty" something I can't remember, and this drink was completely opposite of what they had listed as the ingredients. It was nasty! I asked the hostess if I can trade it for something else since I didn't like it and I didn't drink it. And she tells me that she is going to charge me for the drink that I will order and the one I didn't like. Supposedly she couldn't take it off the bill. After this I was MAD. This place is a joke. To sum it up the drags are old men, not real performers, the food is scary (don?t eat it) it looks sketchy and the bill was out of control expensive. We didn't even eat the damn food. They basically charged us to see them dance like a manic which was kind of funny and talk trash.

  • Pros: Funny Dancers
  • Cons: Everything Else was BAD

I went with a group of friends for someone's one birthday and we had an awsome time there. It was crowded all night with a pack of fun people most of whom seemed to be celebrating something. The floor show was the best point of the night it was all around you and all out that drag made me dizzy with pleasure. The "girls" of Lucky Cheng's are sweet and funny and gracious hostesses and made our night out a success. It was like going to an amusement park, the circus and for great Asian food all wrapped up in one.. Try it out and you will not be disappointed..

  • Pros: the strong drinks, and fancy showgirls
