Nice staff, but not the nicest experience trying to sell.
by jdorkin
I wish selling used books was a uniformed experience where you could expect a certain percentage, even if it weren't high. Instead, the idea is to take advantage of a customer because they either don't want to lug their books back home or because they didn't research their collection. Is this how small businesses stay open? I'd trade good vibes over money any day so why not work with your sellers and make longterm connections????

Focused shoppers are rewarded with deals at this small but well-stocked shop.
Cozy east village classic, great selection
by idab
The store has been renovated since the lats review. My high school education was culled from the sales section at this bookstore, where you can still find contemporary and ancient classics in good condition for $2 a pop. The renovated store maintains the cozy, hap hazard, but well stocked feel it had years ago. Also of note is the small treasure trove of east village literary and musical paraphernalia from the 70s. It might not be worth a long track, but if you are in the neighborhood, definitely stop by.
- Pros: mellow atmosphere, good selection
- Cons: somewhat disorganized and cramped
Pretentious Jerk

Decent selection of books crammed into a dismal room the size of my bathroom. What made my visit even more unpleasant was very poor attitude of the proprietor.
