I went to get my hair highlighted and cut as a special treat for myself about a month ago and walked out spending almost $700, and not by choice. When I called to make my appt., I was given appts. with both Master Stylists (Scott and Alyson). I had never been before, so I had no preference in who I was to see. That was fine, but what I REALLY SHOULD HAVE ASKED is, how much this was going to cost me? Although my highlights are nice and I love my cut, I was just absolutely upset about how much these things cost me, and not to mention how I was strong-armed into buying products after it was all over. I know it's New York and all, but I was expecting to pay no more than $300, maybe $350 tops, for everything. I usually pay $135-$150 for everything at another salon. Will definitely not go back because it's just so outrageously expensive to have Scott and Alyson work on my hair. I cried when I got home, not because my hair looked nice, but at the thought of how much I had just spent. I'm giving it 2 stars as an average (4 stars for Scott and Alyson and no stars for price).

Pros: Friendly Staff

Cons: Outrageously Crazy Expensive

I mistakenly posted this under the Bond Street location.... so I reposted it here. I've been at customer at Eva Scrivo for over a year now. I initially went to see Eva, the owner, for a color correction due to a horrible dye job at my previous salon and thought it would be a one time splurge to get myself back on track with a good color. But, Eva did such a good job with my color and cut that I'm now hooked on her salon's services. They are a little on the expensive side, but the quality is top notch -- hence why I've gone back ever since. While there are many talented stylists there, lately I've been seeing Hiro and he does a wonderful job with cuts! He takes a lot of time going over what would look good on you before he starts cutting, and is really patient and explains what he's doing throughout the cut (I'm very particular and do ask questions so I like that he doesn't take offense at this!) I also like that when he's blowing your hair dry, he shows you how to do it so you can achieve the same look at home. He's really an excellent addition to the salon. I've never written a review before, but my last cut was so great that I had to post. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is bored with their current style and needs a change!

Pros: talented staff, expertise, range of services

Cons: none really....

I got my hair butcher today and need it fix. I got the best Haircut with A.C at your salon and would love to find him. His first name is Antonio not sure what the C stands for. He always gave me the best hair cuts I miss him. Please if anyone out there knows of where he can be found. Please get in touch with me. Erin.

I have had my hair colored for over 10 years now and it has never really came out the color I wanted. Well I decided to try this salon out because I read lots of great reviews, and let me tell you, it was the best decision that I have ever made. My hairstylist was Erica, she is just soooo fantastic, she gave me the color and the highlights that I never imagined I could have, and a gorgeous haircut. Also, my hair naturally has that weird curly (not pretty) shape, and it used to be a pain to try to dry and make it look nice, so I used to just let it air dry and look horrible, well she styled my hair sooo well that I bought some of the products that she used on me (btw she was not pushing them on me whatsoever!) and I watched how she dried my hair and now, I do it myself and it really looks perfect! I highly recommend Erica, she is fantastic and she will make you look fabulous!!!

Pros: Great everything!

Cons: Nothing!!

I took a 2 1/2 hour bus ride to NY to visit Eva Scrivo Salon. I knew Eva would finally be the stylist to give me the haircut I've always dreamed of! Eva has many celebrities and famous people as her clients. I am nowhere near famous, but Eva made me feel like a movie star when I walked out of her salon. She truly cares for her clients. I didn't feel intimidated at all. The shop is meticulously clean and organized with wonderful products. Eva's staff is made up of truly professional and beautiful people. I've already scheduled my next hair appointment with Eva and am so looking forward to it!

Pros: You'll leave looking wonderful and feeling fantastic!

Cons: Cons??? Won't find them here!

I first came to the Eva Scrivo salon after a few terrible haircolor experiences uptown and some worse at home dye jobs. It's very difficult to find someone who excels at reds, but thanks to a brilliant suggestion from the receptionist, I found Alyson for the color and Scott for my cut. Alyson is absolutely incredible with reds. She gave me the most natural, shiny beautiful color I've ever had and it LASTS! The consultation was in depth and very personalized and I loved how she talked to me about maintaining the color and how to do glazes to keep the red so perfect. Scott really listens to what you have to say and spent a great deal of time on my blowout and dry cutting. I've never had a cut grow out so well. Everything about this salon is fantastic, including the welcoming front desk staff and Gwen, their sweet assistant. I am a loyal client and I would strongly reccommend this salon to anyone who wants top quality service and results.

Pros: Incredible cut and color. Receptionists. Staff. Location.

Cons: Expensive but worth it.

A.C. is terrific. I came to A.C. with a very boring, blah haircut. During our consultation, he listented to me very carefully and offered some great advice. He is extremely meticulous, very patient, and has a great eye. End result, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair. Bonus, he is a great stylist too. Usually when I leave a salon, my hair is poofy and un-flattering and I go home immediately to wash it. He styled my hair and it looked awesome - totally natural and flatterring, I looked HOT! thanks AC, you are awesome!!

Pros: A.C. listents, meticulous workmanship, patient, pleasant to work with

I visited the Eva Scrivo salon for the first time a few weeks ago. The salon is beautiful and I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I only waited a few minutes before I my stylist was ready to see me (very rare occurrence for a NY salon). I explained to the stylist the basic idea of the style I was looking for - keep most of the length and keep it low maintenence. I was a bit surprised she was using the razor on my hair, as it is already fine - but when she was done, it seemed OK. I liked (but didn't love) the cut but, like most cuts, you get a true feel for them for a day or two when you wash and style yourself. Unfortunately, when I made my first attempt drying and styling my new hair cut, I was horrified by the result! My ends were frizzy and stringy. My hair was weighed down by all the products the stylist insisted I needed and I couldn't get it to look even close to the style that I had when I left the salon that day. I was leaving to go out of town the next day and wound up going to the salon in the hotel to fix the cut. For the amount of money I spent on the cut and then the products, you can imagine my disappointment. Now that I am back in town, I am going to go back when this cut grows out. I have heard too many great things about the salon to not at least give it a second shot. But this time, I think I will see a different stylist. I'll post again and let you know how trip #2 goes!

We are deeply troubled by what happened with your first haircut at our salon. Please call us so that we can get to the bottom of, and rectify this situation. Please know that what happened to you is a very rare occurence, and that the razor is often used on fine hair with great success. Problems occur when the razor is used carelessly, in which case it can end up "frying" the ends of the hair (any hair, fine or thick). It's not much different than the damage that scissors can cause in inexperienced and careless hands. Only the razor requires even more skill and focus. We understand that there are few things that are as deeply disappointing and maddening as a bad haircut, especially when you have such high expectations from a reputable salon. We are very sorry and embarassed that this happened at our establishment. Please call the salon and ask to speak with Arik. If I'm not there, please leave a message on my voicemail how I can reach you.

I recently moved out of state after being a client at Eva Scrivo Salon for 4 years. I often fondly think about the salon, it is one of the things about NY that I miss most. There simply aren't any salons like this one anywhere else, and I have sadly realized this ten times over since having moved. I lived only a couple blocks away, and the salon had become like my home away from home. It was not only a place where I knew that I'd get the most beautiful hair and wonderful facials, but where I felt that everyone from the receptionist and assistant to Eva herself, really cared about me and my experience there. If I was having a bad day, I'd forget about my problems while at the salon and would feel and look like a new person upon leaving. I really did not expect to find a place quite like this one in my new home town (even though I'm still in a fairly cosmopolitan place), but I did not fully appreciate how spoiled I had become because it's been one disappointment after another since then. Even though Eva was kind enough to give me my color formula, my highlights have not been the same since having it done in new salons. I guess there's more to it than just chemistry. I have actually resisted getting my haircut for six months now, as that is one thing that I won't let anyone else do! I'll be coming back to NY soon just for my cut (and hopefully to get my color back to where it was). Maybe I'll also visit some friends while there :) Thank you Eva for everything. I miss you and everyone at your salon, and I can't wait to see you in about a month!

Pros: The best cut, color, facials and service
