Stylish, comfy and colorful shoes to make you feel European.

Chelsea boys (and girls, too) get a kick out of these Euro-look shoes designed by a Frenchman and made in Portugal from super-soft leathers. The size of a suburban walk-in closet, the store makes the best of its space with clean lines, bright lights and pleasantly deafening music. These shoes are lauded for supreme comfort and sturdy construction, but most-loved for their experimental spirit. Nothing is "out" or off-limits: Velcro flaps, orange-hair calf, lime-colored Mary Janes, '50s diamond patterns, '80s ankle pull-on tabs and that British bump-toe style all make bold statements that others eventually copy.

A Foot Up on the Competition

This shoe store has a nice selection of stylish footwear that makes a quiet statement. I've received endless compliments on the pair of shoes I bought there as has a friend of mine. Well-made from fine leather, Giraudon's shoes set a good base for the low-key fashionplate's wardrobe.
