The grooviest of the groovy (if you're into that, which I am). It's got an early-70s feel of communalism and Carol King (she once donated land to the founder, Swami Satchidananda). The teachers take you to your Self through the asanas, mantras, and pranayama alone--no watered down dharma talks. Their egos stay out of the way and often you don't know who your teacher will be, which was disconcerting to me at first but it's great for non-attachment. A wonderful place to take a beginner, this is some authentic Hatha Yoga.
Pros: Egoless
Cons: You are unlikely to get a great booty from practicing this yoga.

This yoga school is well-organized, clean, with a caring staff. All levels are offered. A great place to go, even just to clear your mind and feel better.
Pros: friendly staff, cleanliness, all levels available, genuinely calming place
Cons: I can't go every day!

New, very new, or advanced...pre-natal, post partum, gentle, Spanish...it's all part of their regular schedule. If not, it's probably a workshop being offered. The teachers and staff are friendly and care about their students. The instructors seem well trained and I don't feel their "egos" as part of the class. Their focus looks to be on students benefiting as much as they'd like to. When introducing someone to yoga, I always bring them here first...where they will feel welcomed and enjoy their practice without expectations.
Pros: Instructors & Staff, Classes offered, Mats & props avail
Cons: Satsangs&Kirtans late

This is a sanctuary. But, you got to come here ready for it, with an openmind. If that is the case, then be prepared for a journey to a place travel agents couldn't ever sell tickets to! Come on, what have you got to lose..........tension??????
Pros: friendly, non judgemental, energetic

A comfortable place for drop-in yoga. I find the Level 1 classes relaxing, and appreciate the blood-pumping vigor of Level 2.
