I went to Atrium for the first time a few months ago, and I have never come out of there feeling like I've been pressured by a salesperson whether I get something or not. One of my biggest pet peeves is pressure from shop keepers/employees... but I never had to worry about that here. Believe it or not- you can something find great deals when there is a sale. If you are in the area, stop by!
Pros: great merchandise, helpful staff
Cons: can get very busy on weekends, but it's NYC

I am a born and raised New Yorker who is up to date with style and the latest trends. Never have I gone to Atrium and not found something unique, cutting edge and stylish. The store is pricey, but you get what you pay for. Their jean selection is enormous and when the store has sales, it goes all out! Sales people are pretty persuasive, but have a great product to sell. I've told/taken many of my friends to Atrium and they will agree with me 100%. Recommend to anyone looking for some of the latest brands and trends.
Pros: great jean selection and seasonal sales
Cons: only 1 store in NYC!

atrium has the best selection of jeans! even better than barneys co-op, scoop nyc, or bloomingdales. i found amazing new brands including goldsign, tsubi, and jet at atrium the other day. despite what some people mentioned in their reviews, their customer service is excellent. i tried on 20-30 pairs (twice!) and the shopgirls were very friendly and helpful. yes, they do not accept returns and its especially tricky with jeans, but you can always exchange your jeans within 14 days. i'm sure you will find another amazing pair at atrium. consult sara or dj. pringle if they're available. they recommended lots of good stuff that i wouldn't have picked out otherwise. atrium is by far the best denim store in lower manhattan.
Pros: service, selection
Cons: busy

I had just moved to the city and wandered in here like an idiot. I found 2 pairs of jeans that I really liked, but the two of them together were like $380, so I only wanted 1. I asked the sales girl about it and she said "get both you can always bring one back." I looked at the conspicuously posted "no returns" sign and said "but do you take returns?" and she said "yeah, here's my card *insert reassuring grin*". I went home, thought about it, and brought the other pair back, unworn. SAME salesgirl looks at me like i'm nuts and says "we don't take returns." I said "but, you said..." and she says "we only do exchanges." Alrighty then.
Pros: cunning salespeople
Cons: cunning salespeople

I purchased a shirt onsale a weeks ago, I brought the shirt home and noticed there was a hole in it. With all tags on, I husseled downtown to exchange. The shirt was not only additional marked down, but when I approached the cashier, who diverted me to the manager, he informed me all sales are final and I should have checked the item before leaving. When I asked mr.manager what I should do with the defective merchandise his suggestion was for me to gift it... looking at him I said, would you give your friend a shirt with a hole in it? What happened to the customer is always right? I am on a quest to inform my friends, and NYC shoppers to never shop Atrium or stores only offering store credit. Shop department stores they have better policies, are more accomadating and carry the same merchandise.
Pros: Good Sales
Cons: Horrible Return Polic, Bad Customer Service

Although the clothes are cute, I dont think I have ever encountered worse customer service since I have been living in New York. It is not worth going in there. If I am spending that much money on clothes I would like to be treated with at least some courtesy.

first and foremost atrium is not only for kids 17 and under or only for hip hoppers, although you can catch hip hop celebrities such as Jay-Z, Lil Kim, Busta Ryhmes, etc. on any given day. Next, although the atrium has a limited variety of clothes, it's clothes are up to date and exclusive. For example it's evisu collection is very exclusive and it's diesel collection is always up to par. I must admit atrium is very pricey, but if your involved with the fashion world you should know that it cost to look good.

Contrary to other views, I don't think The Atrium is just for hip-hoppers that have no style (the idea that was conveyed). I do agree that The Atrium carries clothing that is distinctly urban with an emphasis on sportswear. However, I think they have a great line of clothing. They are lacking in the women's tops department. They could carry a larger line of jackets. However, they are always the first ones to carry the newest jeans that have just become trendy. Among others they sell Seven jeans, paper denim & cloth and frankie b's. This place isn't the end of all of shopping. But, if you're looking to pick up a hot pair of jeans and some funky footwear, the Atrium is the place to go.
