Corner dive stands in stark contrast to the wrought-iron buildings and hipper bars of the neighborhood.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
With nothing even remotely resembling a scene, and with cheap drinks, pool, and a smattering of tables and small TV sets, Milady's is one of Prince Street's more unique destinations. Bright lights (as most bars go) make the divier aspects more apparent than they might be, but in this ever-posh locale, that's part of the charm--and it's also what drives the locals and working class stiffs inside on a nightly basis.

Hits: If you're looking for a cold beer south of Houston Street--nothing more, nothing less--there's little to complain about here.

Misses: It might be the lighting, it might be the crowd, but on quieter nights there's something distinctly depressing about the joint.

thank you

Was walking by late one night with a group friends and stopped in to eat . We had just been to an art show and were happy this place was down to earth, not trendy and expensive. The food was greasy pub food - exactly what we were looking for, and extremely delicious. Prices were awesome for the neighborhood as well. The place looks like a basement but it's supposed to, and that's what makes it so cool.

The story really begins after the meal was over. We split the check, and I put part of it on my credit card. A few days later I saw that I had been charged the full amount even though another friend have paid that portion in cash. I called up the place and they put me right with the owner who apologized profusely and said he would put the credit back on my card. I waited a few days, checked, and saw that instead of crediting my account he had charged the same amount again bringing my total to over four times what I was supposed to be paying. When I called yet again, the owner was extremely apologetic and told me to come down for my refund (in cash) and a free meal for me and my boyfriend. I was amazed, not only did he deliver on the cash promise but instructed his staff to provide us with whatever we wanted. Of course I was extremely annoyed at all the hassle but all in all what could have been a bad experience was handled professionally and timely. Thank you!

  • Pros: good food, cheap drinks
  • Cons: messed up on the bill (but made up for it in full)

MiSkanky's - good liquor deal in the 'hood

by daveeb at Citysearch

It's cheap and good. Crowd is always entertaining - half regulars who are up to no good and half non-regulars who don't have a clue as to what is really going on. It's a good value for the drink dollar and the regulars do get a bit too festive at times but hey - cheap drinks + clueless people = entertainment.

  • Pros: Cheap & strong drinks
  • Cons: Lots 'o 'tude

should be MiMans

I live down the block from this hole in the wall. Its an absolutely fanstastic place, VH1 would call it "awesomely bad"- the manly stanly female bartenders when not being skanky and rude ignoring you behind the bar, are outside ignoring you while smoking. the customers are often bombed and the jukebox rocks. Its a pure drinking crowd, usually very friendly and cool, you can feel easily at home here with no "soho" bs. Be careful of the late night turn around- local vagrants are aware of the overserved, friendly factor and some weirdness insues...

  • Pros: great bar, great food
  • Cons: smells

relaxing joint

by j_t at Citysearch

fun place with the hoop games on...a little hectic, but on a Friday night what do you expect I guess...

the bartender was friendly and efficient, and she picked up our fourth round...

you wouldn't really know you were in SoHo once you get settled in...

  • Pros: pro bartender, pool table, sports on TV

Divey, but not

by BIGSeth at Citysearch

A lot of people call this a dive. It's not really. Sure, compared to the rest of soho it's a little less glamorous, but hey you can afford it. Drinks are fairly priced, good buy back rate and the food is actually pretty damn good. Recommend the burger, not the onion rings. Stays pretty happening pretty late and is on of the only places to play pool in the area.

Thank you, Milady!

Strange name for a really good bar. Milady? It looks like it's really old but it's a decent place.

Great pool table. Pretty big menu for a place like this and everything people ordered who I was with tasted pretty good. A decent crowd from after work until pretty late. Waitresses are really nice.

Pah-schwa

With all the anonymous 10s slated for this place, someone needed to start speaking the TRUTH, so here it is:

atmosphere: crowded, smoky and run-down

crowd: shabby-chic (count the puma sneakers)

drinks: relatively cheap and cold

food: greasy and reasonably priced

service: sassy barmaids in need of attitude adjustment just taking their sweet time
