Good prices and fun atmosphere

by loqieu

Great specials on beers usually and a fun atmosphere. This is as lite a club-lite bar can get. Usually there are movies being played on the tv while the bartender serves out $4 beers. Although sometimes this place does have a cover, a laughable $2 most often, you money at the bar is well spent for a Saturday. This place also recently underwent a renevation, so it's even a little nicer. I don't suggest spending an entire night here though, but definitely worth an hour or two of your time during the Bleecker barhop.

  • Pros: Drink specials, fun atmosphere
  • Cons: Dark and often crowded

Decent Music, Decent Drinks

by rosie10014

A good hang out place in the Village. Not overly crowded. A bit dreary looking (really dark) but if you're with your friends who cares about that?? The music is great - very eclectic, a bit of everything.

Great Atmosphere and Drinks!!

by witty007kitty

I was there this past Saturday and may end up back out there tonight. But it definantely was the spot to be that night. the music was great...I mean they played practically every type of genre that you could think of. Getting drinks from the bar was easy and efficient.

Great Place to Start the Nite!

by alpha28

I've been coming to Asylum for a couple of months during Happy Hour. This is by far the best vaule for your drinks in the city. Not only is it in the heart of the village, if you decide to stay after happy hour the place gets really crowded around 10:30. Great Place!

WOW ON HAPPY HOUR

by eninajsti

WOW, happy hour is great, half price on everything : ) I like the darkness to the place. Candles lit, nice atmosphere. I arrived at 8:00, happy hour till 10. When I left at 9:30 it was getting busy. Great name!! Will make it an official stop off when in the city.

One Pathetic Soul

by pickleabee

I was in from Boston and the place is rad and all, wicked music and a fun crowd but when i had some beatass twerp come up to me like "he's the man" get up all on his high horse like Don Quixote fighting the windmill I was a bit confused. Who does this looser think he is... you're a bar manager not the president, someone takes their job a little too seriously. I'll go back next time I am in NY just

to laugh at the guy, you should too.

  • Cons: pathetic bar manager

GREAT Music!!

by Julee

I was visiting NYC and my brother took me to this club. It was great!! The music was the best ever! They played everything from J Lo. to old music like Jump Around by House of Pain! Yes, it was kind of pricy to get in ($10 for ladies and $20 for guys), but it was worth it! It was a bit crowded, but not too bad. Everyone was dancing and having a good time! I will definitely go back there.

  • Pros: Great Music
  • Cons: Crowded
