30 dollar minimum for credit cards!!!!
by JohnGG
These jerks insist on a 30 dollar minimum for credit cards--a clear violation of their VISA and Mastercard merchant agreement. Like most bars in this busy tourist thoroughfare, they are greedy as hell. Beer is always warm and takes forever too. Try a place with more class, like anywhere...
Comfy Bar - Good Selection of Beer
by mvalitutto
I went to this bar with a group a few weeks ago after work. They pretty much have it all for a neighborhood bar. I counted 18 tap beers...not a bad selection. There's a good happy hour on tap beer (only). They have a great dart area, three pool tables, plenty of video games and a jukebox. Considering the location, the prices were good. And the staff were all in a pretty good mood. Good vibe in the place. There were Sapporo people giving out an IPOD that night. There are too many televisions for my taste, but then again I'm not a huge sports fan. I'll be back soon!!
- Pros: Selection, prices, Happy Hour
Ok bar with bad staff
by kittynyc
I'm not one to knock a local pub, but the staff here is probably the most unfriendly I've encountered in my many, many NYC bar stops. I keep trying to like this bar because it's so close to me, but everytime I go the bartenders (mainly the females for some reason) continue to be rude, i.e. like I'm bothering them if I try to order a drink. With so many other places to choose from, I doubt I'll go back. Draft beer specials are good, but it takes friendly service to gain my patronage.
- Pros: Draft Specials, darts, pool
- Cons: Rude Bartenders
A Village standard for darts, pool and drinking.

In Short
The highlights at this spacious bar are the fine darts and pool facilities, where play is competitive but not too intense. Standard classic rock, like the Beatles and Stevie Ray Vaughan, plays on the CD-juke while customers chat in the wood-toned front bar area. Located between the East and West Villages, Bleecker hosts a similarly middle-of-the-road cross-section of NYU students, after-work folks and Village stragglers.
A fun bar away from the Trendy crowd
by Drink_Club
This place is just down the street from me. I've been partial to it since the doorman asked me for my ID last year. Yeah! Classic Rock on the jukebox, dartboards in front, pool table in back. It's a drinker's bar. Because of its proximity to NYU sometimes it gets filled with "the wrong crowd," and sometimes it's just packed. (It's lack of high-tech coolness, keeps the real scum away however.) Freya, the waitress, was kind, and full of life. This time, there was a free caricature for anyone ordering BASS ALE before 11. --Drink Club, since 1998, is a roving group of NY Drinkers
- Pros: Friendly staff, untrendy, darts/pool
- Cons: too collegiate
Good NYU Bar
by cturek
Bleeker used to be much more of a scene/pickup bar than it is now, but it still gets a good afterwork crowd, skewing younger on weekends and the pool room (3 tables) can hold a small horde on weekend nights. Not a polished place, more gritty and Bowery-ish than many places in the area which is part of why I like it. Bring your cue or your darts, and your game, the play is competitive... but fun.
- Pros: Darts/Pool, good staff, big
