I am a vintage buyer, and I had gone to the East Village with the express purpose of shopping the vintage stores. I had read several very negative reviews of Andy's Chee-Pees online that said that the sales people were insufferably rude, but we decided to check it out anyway. I wish we hadn't bothered! My sister and I walked in and began perusing a row of dresses. I noticed that several of the dresses on the row, priced $45-$55, weren't vintage at all, just used clothing from the last decade or so. I remarked casually to my sister, "Half of these aren't even vintage," and the sales guy lurking behind me barked, "HALF? HALF?" I was taken totally aback at his aggressive tone of voice. I said, "Yes, the dresses I looked at aren't vintage." He demanded, "What do you think is vintage, 50's?" I said, "No, I'm looking for anything 80's and older." He demanded, "What's 80's?" and I said, "You don't have to debate me, I'm a vintage buyer." He said, "This isn't a debate, it;s conversation--welcome to New York," and I said, "The reviews online are right, the salespeople here ARE a**holes," at which point he started screaming at me to f**k off and get the f**k out of his shop, and how dare we, coming into NY from "Bumblef**k" and knowing nothing about vintage, and F** YOU and get out!, etc. We promptly walked out, and he started following us down the street and when my sister calmly told him, Leave us alone, go away, he yelled "F**K YOU," at flailed his hands at her, and yelled "Don't touch me!" He was like a completely crazy person. As we walked down the street, he was suddenly right there in front of us, and he started berating us again about "ignorant people who come to NY and know nothing about vintage," blah blah crazy. I told him to take some Prozac and flipped him off. I warn everyone, stay away! The negative reviews are utterly right. I buy vintage clothing all over, and I've never had anyone behave like such a loon. This guy seems dangerously unhinged.

Pros: What pros?

Cons: Abusive salesman
