Good food, great atmosphere, wonderful cigars - This place has it all
by jazzerdarb at Citysearch
We found this place inadvertently and ended up going almost every day. The food was impressive. We loved the people and the atmosphere. We read about the cigar store, but found we loved it all. The staff were friendly, didn't rush us, and made us feel at home. We arrived late for dinner but they accomodated us all the same. Food is served in a non-smoking atmomsphere with cigars in the front. Try the mozarella, pizza, chicken parm, mussels or about anything. Very authentic and down to earth place to relax in Little Italy.

- Pros: Great Vibe
The Real Deal
by IrishItalianBaller at Citysearch
Great place. Why? It's simple--authenticity. This place reminds anyone who is a native New Yorker what NYC used to be like. This place has all the attributes (good and bad) that Little Italy had before it was a tourist trap. Nowadays, Mulberry Street is more like Disney Epcot than a true ethnic experience. Not this place. You will pay too much for cheap wine (but where wouldn't you?) but the food is good as far as standard Italian-American goes. I recommend their pizza if you aren't that hungry because it comes individually and is thin and evenly cooked. Their calzones are fried not baked, so I also recommend those. Get the cigars that are not labelled. They are worth the extra couple of bucks (5-15 dollars each, depending.) Nothing beats this place when it comes to experience. Be sure to chat up the owners, they are a hoot.
- Pros: Ambience, Cigar-friendly, selection of ethnic liqeur, selection of single malt scotch
- Cons: pricey wine for the quality you are getting

what a great place!! I went there for the first time last weekend. The group I was with had a great time and enjoyed the food. We order a few pizzas and sat back and enjoyed our time.
Old NYC Lives On!
by jesuisfier at Citysearch
One of the best places in NYC. Brought some out of town friends here because they wanted to smoke cigars and cigarettes. Not only is Florio's great for a wide variety of cigars and smoker friendly atmosphere, the food is delicious as well.
This place is like an old mid-20th Century hangout. One of the best around today by far.
- Pros: Smoke friendly, great food, great atmosphere
- Cons: None
Little Italy's Finest and cigar friendly as well
by marianpopa at Citysearch
Florio's is amazing! Without doubt, one of the finest restaurants in Little Italy. The atmosphere is outstanding and the selection of hand made, cognac aged cigars, Ports, Cognacs and Single Malt scotches is unrivaled. Prices are terrific as well. The staff is courteous and enthousiastic. You never know whom you might run into as well. The military theme in the cigar bar is cool as can be.
- Pros: Selection and service is spectacular
The Food was Great but...
by creativelolita at Citysearch
Walked in to watch the Italia/Germany match. We sat at the bar and were told there was a 20.00 PP minimum. OK, no problem. It's more than Felix (the trendiest World Cup place) but fine. We are there 5 minutes (game has not started) and we are hounded to order apps/drinks. We ask for a few min and are given eye rolls. We order apps and are told we have to order "everything at once, so make sure that is all you want." We order apps and they are delicious. Next, the smell of cigar smoke fills the air and the people who work there are screaming at each other so loud you cannot hear the game or the person talking to you. It's not old school Italian charm--it's annoying. We order a couple of drinks and our bill is delivered. Two people at the bar met their 20.00 PP minimum and were surprised the cranky bartender included an 18% gratuity. I would always tip but this was really gutsy.
- Pros: Good Food
- Cons: Terrible Service, Cigarette and Cigar smoke
classic italian that every one will enjoy
by italys_finest at Citysearch
i started coming to this place when i was 3, about 13 years later, i always find time to go back and meet my uncle larry and aunt pauline(who run the cigar shop and restauraunt) i have extreme passion for food and i can say this some of the greatest iv ever tasted, the atmosphere always stays in my heart, its extremely family oriented and the lounge/bar is very romantic and respectable. all the waiters have shown excellent respect to anyone that has ever gone there(except for the guy who hates this gem of a restauraunt) you really need to experience this affordable, romantic and classic culture eating in the city in the heart of little italy.
- Pros: outdoor seating, cigar lounge, good service
- Cons: can get crowded
Best kept Secret
by lacigars at Citysearch
A "Best kept secret" Florio's is a home away from home to many of it's patrons. Wonderful, homemade pastas and delicious entrees are its hallmark. The atmosphere is friendly and warm in this cigar friendly haven. There is even a smoke free dining room and an outdoor cafe. Dining or just relaxing with a cocktail after work is always a wonderful experience here. Highly reccommended!
- Pros: Excellent cuisine, Great service, Cigar friendly
- Cons: , crowded on weekends
The Best In Little Italy!
by justinemullin at Citysearch
I was horrified by the review I just read about Florios. I have been going there for 10 years and never had anything but excellent service. The staff could not be warmer or more accommodating. And the food is unbelievable-it is some of the best Italian I have ever had. It is also extremely afforadble, and a great place for a large party. I would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.
- Pros: Service, Food, Cigars
