We were in Tribeca with our family and decided to catch an early dinner around 3:30. The restaurant was empty, literally no one in it, yet we were seated right next to the restroom door. I am going to assume this was because we were there with 3 children. The waiter was VERY rude and snotty, even my 7 year old said he was rude. The food took aver 45 minutes to arrive at our table. We ordered 3 black angus burgers, a child chicken finger, a Cesar salad and a salmon appetizer. When the food did arrive my families food arrived 10 minutes before mine. It was not at ALL what I expected and I asked to replace it with a Cesar salad like my mother in law had. After PLENTY of eye rolls and being told that they could not put chicken on it because it would take to long, they finally brought out..and I am DEAD SERIOUS HERE... two heads of romaine lettuce with ONE anchovie on top, not chopped..just a damm head of lettuce,no dressing,no egg,no chesse. I was appalled. We were never asked once if we wanted more drinks even after he saw everyone had empty glasses....shame shame!!! Empty restaurant and all!! Note to waiter: We eat out several times a week with our children at very high end restaurants. I am notorious for leaving $100 tips for good service. I gave you a $10 to make a point...hope you got it!!!!!!!!

Pros: Burgers were great.

Cons: Service and staff unfriendly and cold!

The food was OK, but not so good that it represented value for the vastly inflated price; the front-of-house person was fine, but we barely saw our waitress. We felt neglected and we were paying far too much to feel bad. Our drinks arrived long after we'd asked for them a second time, our bread order was met by stunned disbelief by another server. And despite a perky voice so high-pitched only a dog could hear, our waitress somehow managed to convey that she didn't care about us. If we had wanted slapdash service from teenage amateurs, we would have gone to the UK for brunch. I felt like the mark in a con trick.

Pros: Nice decor

Cons: Poor table service

Just had dinner there (albeit Restaurant Week) - but had an early table - restaurant wasn't crowded at all when we were sat. The food was average at best - I (an avid red snapper fan) was very disappointed w/ the entree - fish wasn't fresh - bland entree - couldn't eat it. The carrot/coconut soup was great as was my husbands warm asparagus salad. He had the skirt steak which was good and both our desserts were very good (apricot tart - yummy). The problem here is that although most of the food was good - it wasn't too exciting - no wow factor as one would expect from this TriBeCa oldie. The staff looked bored - were unfriendly and the service was very disappointing (had to bother another waiter for our check). Maybe they were already depressed about making 1/2 the tips and working twice as hard b/c of restaurant week. But, they should realize it's restaurant week that gets new customers in and their service should be great so that the new customers come back. In the end we were disappointed - we definitely got the $35 service (special menu price for restaurant week). The restaurant itself is nice looking and I like the location - maybe we'll give it another try - this time on a weekend w/ some friends....just maybe.

On a June, 2008 trip to NYC we went to the Tribeca Grill before we caught a cab back to Broadway. The hostess actually knew when I gave my name that we had reserved as and were there for pre theatre and immediately sat us. No small achievement in my experience. The Sommelier was most helpful in assisting us with choosing a reasonably priced wine that we enjoyed. The service time from when our waitress took our order until it was served was absolutely amazing. We joked about whether the waitress who took our order and the service person passed each other on the way to the kitchen. Each course of our meal surpassed our expectations and the service at every level was outstanding. Forget about the celebrity ties, I would not come to the NYC area again without visiting this fine restaurant.

I traveled down with friends to Tribeca on Saturday May 17th for the "Taste of Tribeca:" street fair. Afterwards we walked around the Tribeca neighborhood, and then stopped in for an early dinner at Tribeca Grill. I haven't read much about the restaurant recently, and am not predisposed to like places with celebrity connections. Having said that, I really enjoyed our dinner. The room has a warm, downtown feeling, and while it got somewhat noisy at times, we could all hear each other at the table. The food was good and ample. I started with the Seared Tuna with Sesame Noodles, and others at our table tried the Warm Spring Asparagus Salad, and Jumbo Lump crabcake. All were quite good. For mains we ordered the Garganelli with Short Rib Bolognese, Seared Sea Scallops with Morels, and Long Island Duck Breast. Each exceeded expectations. The wine list was very substantial, and the sommelier was helpful in helping us navigate to some good choices that were not too pricey. It all made for a very pleasant trip to an area and restaurant that was off our radar screen.

Pros: Good food & wine list. Accommodating service.

Cons: A bit of a hike for everyone except downtowners.

Not worth it. Terrible management- not friendly at all. Service was less than expected. I would not recommend this place to anyone because of the manager.

Inedible..DeNiro does not eat his own cooking I guess. Seems to do well with tourists and business people though

Pros: easy to get a reservation

Cons: tourists and people who want to say to their entree, "you talking to me?"

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. I was extremely disappointed. I do not recommend this restaurant and would not go back. There was nothing at all special about the food and there was nothing outstanding about the menu either. I was expecting a lot more! I will say the service was very good. Although we waited a long time for our table (even though we made reservations) the staff was very apologetic and even picked up our drinks at the bar as well as our coffee and dessert.

My boyfriend took me here as a surprise and I loved every moment of it. As a big foodie, I was really impressed with the food. I'd recommend getting the Lobster which was absolutely delightful. The portions were great, I didn't feel hungry after the meal. Also the service was excellent.

Pros: food, service

Cons: nothing

Went with friends during the restaurant week. One of my friend ordered the port shank from the promotion menu, it was great. The meat was tender and juicy. Worth a try! Short ribs were good, too. And also the scallops. Waiters were nice and friendly. But just a little bit noisy.

Pros: good selection of wine, good food, and friendly staff

Cons: noisy in the restaurant
