Best Value by Far

I've been to massages at the fancy spas (Oasis, Bliss, Soho Sanctuary) and several down and dirty places where there are only sheets separating the tables. This is, by far, my favorite place to go. I am a hard core deep tissue fan, and that's what I get here. I would often feel resentful after a two hour massage at Oasis that I had just spent a couple hundred bucks and my shoulders were still tight. So, ambiance isn't their forte, but for $40 an hour??? That's a little new york miracle. As for the English spoken here, I've never had a problem, everybody seems to know enough to do a good job, but if you have very specific needs you may have difficulty. Also, make sure to stop by the Paris Baguette place for the green tea waffles after your massage.
- Pros: Cheap, good deep tissue, a couple of excellent massuses, very clean
- Cons: thin walls
When you just need it done

This place is good if you need a cheap/easy massage. It's not luxurious or special, just getting it done for cheap.
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: Not very luxurious

upon entering the Center the aroma swept into my senses and made me feel immediately at ease...i could breathe for the first time in a week since coming to ny from florida and enduring things like heaters and low humidity.
the girl at the counter was friendly and speaks english better than i do. she immediately hooked my friend up with her requested masseuse, ruby . she then suggested richard for myself. as it was my first massage, i was a bit nervous about having a male, but decided she knew what she was doing, so i went with her suggestion.
it turns out richard knew what he was doing, also! he started off by massaging my feet, and by doing so he could tell where i was having problems...so unbelievable! he applied pressure the outside of the ball of my foot, and all of a sudden there was quite a bit of pain there (where previously there had been none). he immediately released the pressure and said, "right shoulder has problems". amazed, i agreed. how did he know that i suffer from tendonities and bursitis after years of competitive swimming?? he did the same to the other foot and came up with the same answer, along with that my lower back has a little pain and also my neck. probably from lugging my bags to the upper east side, out to l.i. and back...
richard left the room while i turned over and covered my body in another sheet, so there was never skin to skin contact, but the massage was amazing. it's been over a week, and my back, neck, and shoulders have never felt better. normally, after teaching all day, my neck and back will need to pop or crackle, but nothing since richard worked my worries away!
he finished with a neck and scalp massage after i was dressed and sitting in a chair. oh, the pure relaxation!
- Pros: $40 cash, $41 cc and you feel awesome
- Cons: not super fancy
really good stuff

I am a huge spendthrift but love to live well...and this massage was great! My masseuse, Amy, didn't speak English very well, but she gave an amazing deep tissue. My whole body feels massaged to the core. However, if you have an injury that requires special attention or like your massages soft, I would not recommend this place because I don't know how easily you could communicate your concerns. My massage cost $40 for an hour. the place was clean, the masseuse totally respectful and friendly. No frills, of course..instead of scented massage oil you get baby oil and vaseline. I'm not one to care though..clean good service is all I want and what I got.
- Pros: inexpensive, clean, strong massage
- Cons: doubtful lang. skills, no frills

if you decide to ditch the $200 spa massage and want someone to take with stress out w/o the sound of babbling brooks that cost you an extra $50, then go here and go to fan. he is sweet and very effective. there is absolutly no ambiance and it smells like chinese herbs but you pay $35 for the greatest hour and you could buy things like tiger balm and ginseng.
