I went to DiPalo's on the suggestion of my Aunt who grew up in that neighborhood. the service was great, I was intimidated to orer hearing all the other customers with thier special / specific orders. When the person behind the counter called my number it was like I was the only customer there. It's a great atmosphere and I highly suggest going there. I traveled the sausage home iwth me to florida and cooked it for some friends. It was GREAT!

Best Ricotta!

Even if 25 other people are in the shop you get waited on as if you are the only one there. The owners are excellent business people and very congenial they will go to great lengths to see that you are satisified. The homemade ricotta & mozzarella are delicious. From time to time sheeps milk ricotta is flown in from Rome.
A fourth-generation family business with second-generation customers. This is the real thing.

The Scene
Most of the cheeses, meats, olive oils, and other gourmet foods sold in this tiny family-run market are imported directly from Italy, after being hand-selected by co-owner Lou DiPalo. Some of the products are so hard to find, you literally have to wait for another boat shipment before you can get your hands on them. The store also sells its own brand of mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, which are made right behind the counter.
The Goods
If you're in doubt about what to buy, never fear. The DiPalos take it upon themselves to help customers in need decide what cheese, meat, or olive oil is best for them. It's this personal attention that has helped DiPalo Dairy thrive since it opened in 1925. Even when the store is crammed with customers who've been waiting as long as half an hour, the unfazed DiPalos manage to maintain an other-worldly atmosphere of amicability.
