I visited NYC 4 years ago and stumbled on this bakery. There was a line outside so I figured I must have found some local gem. I tried a vanilla cupcake and found the cake to be too dense while the icing was sugary delicious. Wanting to give it another shot, I again visited last week and tried a chocolate cupcake this time. The cake was great and the icing still as great as ever. Maybe just the vanilla ones are dense? Or maybe it depends on the batch? Anyway, I ordered a flouerless chocolate cake for myself incase I didn't like the cupcake and my husband ordered the turtle cheesecake both of which were supper yummy and totally worth the cab fair over there. I reccomend it but you might want to try one of their other deserts and forgo the cupcake.
