Eating here resulted in violent illness
by mikexc3
Don't ever eat here! I am dead serious, the past 24hrs have been nearly the worst I can remember in my whole life. All thanks to this dive! The waitress was a space cadet from start to finish. My date and I each had a Brooklyn Lager, both were rather warm(not supposed to be). The head on the bear looked funny, like the glasses hadn't been cleaned properly. We didn't think anything of it. The food itself was decent tasting, but 3-4hrs later I was home on the bowl, fully believing that I was very seriously ill, and I am not out of the woods yet. We both shared the appetizer and her entree, neither of us finished our food, perhaps it was hitting us that fast, and our bodies were telling us to give up on the foul food.
My date told me today that as soon as she got inside her apt, that she hurled. Thankfully neither of us were sick until we said goodnight, but, we felt miserable, not fun for Valentines day.
Personally I just won't go back to a place that provided half assed service and food/drink that was questionable to say the least. I plan to file suit. I lost a sick day for this! Anyone know the direct line for the board of health?
- Pros: None unless you are into Werewolves
- Cons: I became violently ill from eating here
Dont eat here

We came to this pub in August 2007 as i had always wanted to go there as they sell Enlish beer.
before i go in to one i must say the year before we had drinks and everything was fine.
We decided to eat on a week day about 7.30 ,only 2 tables were eating including us.
All the meals were either cold ,not cooked or overcooked and i mean rock hard.
I had sausage and mash ,the sausage you could use to poll volt it was that hard ,the mash was just a wet mess.
When we told the waitress she said it was not her fault, i said you could see the state of the food would you eat it? she said No.
First i was not going to pay but thought i better but would not leave any tip.
We left the money in the jar excluding tip,my wife then saw her take $10 out for a tip and chased us up the street saying they were $10 light.
My wife gave her the $10 even though we new what she was up to.
NEVER AGAIN.
Great bar!

We came here after dining in the area for some drinks. What loads of fun. So casual and good old fun with the staff. The staff were the best! Thanks for the great time. They made it a point to make sure everyone in there were having a great time. I can't remember the last bar that would do that. They usually just want your money and thats it. I will definitely come back.
- Pros: fun staff
- Cons: can't think of anything
Cheap drinks, fast!

Stopped in for a drink while we were waiting for our table next door at Perilla. We got a pint of Stella and a Stoli and Soda for $12. The crowd was mostly men around 24 yrs. old. It was New year's eve around 8:30 and they were far from busy.
I liked the charm of the place. The bartenders and waitresses were not the usual NY type (primped and made-up). Just average girls having a good time. The service was good without being fake and overly pretentious.
I would come here again. The drinks were strong, service good, and plenty of space to sit down.
Especially good if you don't want to get dressed up to got out.
- Pros: Strong drinks
- Cons: Musty building
Disappointed
by sandy951
We went to The Slaughtered Lamb on a recommendation. When we first walked in, I was immediately overwhelmed by a horrible smell. We sat at the only pub table open and it was sticky from the last customer. No one offered to clean it and the waitress never approached us so we could place an order. She kept walking passed us as she was busy tending to people in the restaurant part of the pub. We had to go to the bar to get drinks. When I needed to use the bathroom, I could not believe how small it was. It was more like a small linen closet. You could not turn around in there and I bumped my arm on the hand drier as soon as I stood up from using the toliet. Girls, this is definitely not a bathroom to go in as a group. HeHe In fact, 2 people can not even fit in the hall were the bathrooms are located. I had to back up as I was trying to get into the ladies room to let a guy pass as he was exiting the men's room. To top it off, the famous dungeon was closed. What a disappointment. We had 2 drinks and ended up leaving.
- Pros: Can't think of any
- Cons: Smells, poor service and tiniest bathroom I have ever seen
Great neighborhood, horrible place, bad food, flat beer, poor service.
by lipsmacker
It's a theme bar with skeletons on the awning and usually attracts tourists from the midwest, probably searching for a Disney experience. There are tables outside which are very inviting but don't fall for it, like the poor fellows on the awning, you'll probably die of thirst or hunger waiting for service.
In the winter, you might spot the fireplace from outside, again, don't do it. It's dark and dank in there and the gas flames do nothing to warm the place up. In the back and in the basement you'll find old and poorly created dioramas with werewolves and other horrors. After you eventually get your mediocre burger, fries and flat beer, you'll over tip the waitress just because you feel sorry they have to spend so much time in there.
There are so many better options within a two block radius of Jones and west 4th. I urge you to keep walking, you'll be much happier.
- Pros: great neighborhood
- Cons: Theme bar, dusty and dark interior, poor music, poor service, loud and rude clientele (during games)
GREAT COZY PUB IN THE VILLAGE!
by jackwhiteskull
The perfect place to go for a great beer and a sandwich. Cozy warm atmosphere with lots of decorations from London. They have 3 fireplaces, great music, the food was very good and 100 kinds of beer. The perfect escape. This is a my village favourite.
- Pros: Great food, beer, music and atmosphere
- Cons: None
service? what service?
by yup2432
I read about this place on your web site and my girlfriend and I thought that we should go check it out (the Blind Tiger was closed). We went downstairs and waited for the waitress, played a game of pool, finished the game of pool and still no waitress, no drinks. Hmmm. so we left and went down the street to the greek place and were seated and served immediately.
- Pros: Fireplaces!, Plenty of seats avail
- Cons: NO service, NO service, NO service
