You'll think you've escaped the city for the afternoon

I come here all the time with my coworker to brainstorm and, though it's really loud when it gets busy, you manage to be in your own world here. The oatmeal cookies are epic, and, ladies, go on a Monday; the busboys that work that day are always hot.

At first I was unimpressed. The food is nothing special, and becomes less so with the stale potato chips they serve it with. The music was way too loud and annoying- like Dave Matthews Band annoying. The people who work there are obnoxious, as if they have somewhere better to be- like I don't know WORK. And then all of a sudden-C0ckR0@ch falls on my table. On the table....
And when I tell the owner- he could care less. In fact he tells me to go eat somewhere else next time if I have a problem. Obviously I am NEVER eating there again.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Food, Service, Atmosphere- It's all bad.

I work 6pm to 6am and have been looking for a cool place to take a break. I finally found it! Went in last night at about 10:30. Great cup of Cappucino, very reasonably priced, friendly staff. Sat in open front and watched the crowd walk by. I am definitely going back tonight for my break!
- Pros: Great Coffee, Prices, Staff, and Location
- Cons: None

This review is on the Univeristy Place location. Food is excellent, got the brunch breakfast special with eggs which was really good. Prices are reasonable. Coffee/Teas are good. Great little brunch spot to try. The only down side is that it's cash only.

One of my favorites! Perfect for us, breakfast, lunch or dinner. I particularly like the chicken pop pie.
- Pros: Eat and be happy!
- Cons: Sometimes: "It's so crowded, that nobody goes there."
Great food and fun atmosphere

Gray Dog is one of my favorite low-key places in the Village. I try to get something new every time I go there, and it is always delicious. Their turkey burger is perfection and they have great breakfast food too. Everyone has always been nice and the service fast. My only complaints are the weekend insanity with long lines and the noise level. But for the food...it's totally worth it.
- Pros: Great food, wide selection (good vegetarian options)
- Cons: Noise level; can be insane on weekends

Oh man how I love this place. On one lunch break I was searching for some healthy food that wouldn't cost me over $10 and then I stepped into this place. For 7 bucks I got a delicious bowl of granola, yogurt, fresh berries and bananas with an Iced coffee I spent $9.25 and was in heaven. You place your order to the possibly nicest staff in the city and then choose which seat is best to either people watch in the front or get cozy in the back, either way youll enjoy the view. When your food is ready, very quickly at that, the staff calls your name and brings it to you. Grey Dog's might just be the best lunch spot in the whole beautiful city.
- Pros: Every gosh darn thing

I don't know what those people before me are talking about. I recommend ordering from here. i have never sat down in the restaurant. But what i do know is this place has the most delicious, hearty sandwiches i have ever tasted. My boyfriend and i absolutely looooooooove them. We practically order every weekend.
- Pros: Sandwiches
- Cons: none

I read so many great reviews of this place that I chose Grey's as the brunch spot w/ several of my friends. What a mistake. It was super crowded (and after tasting the food, I can't imagine why). I happened to be 20 min late, which is how long it took my friends to get a seat, squeezed in on one of those long communal tables. The food we tried: iced coffee (standard issue, decent), egg and cheese on croissant (egg was rubbery) some sort of tuna wrap (real tuna, not out of a can) which was very bland, cheese fries (AWFUL! they literally microwaved slices of american cheese on the fries, so by the time they got to us it was one gelled piece), cookie (despite its good looks, was dry and hard). Frozen mocha was good. I think there was a decent omelette amongst us. The cheapest thing was the egg and cheese, and at $4.50, no bargain. Definetly not a place to linger, and in my opinion, not a place to return to, either.
- Pros: decent coffee
- Cons: crowded, no lingering, sub-par food
