What do you get for the boyfriend who has everything? Go to the pleasure chest and find out. I've been here for gifts for my guy and he's never been disappointed. If you aren't ready for the wild stuff go for the milder "creams and potions" type stuff. The kama sutra weekender kit is the PERFECT gift. It has massage oil, honey dust, etc...all mini sizes...perfect to pack for a romantic trip! This is also the NYC destination for bachelorette party gifts! Go check it out...staff is friendly...and the store is clean and not in the least sleazy.

Pros: Variety, customer service.

Cons: The s*x and the city bus tour stops here and the store is packed during those 15 minutes or so!

Lots of fun to go with your girlfriends for a Birthday, Bachelorette party, etc. Items range from cheap gag gifts to "personal toys" of all prices. Everyone is bound to find something to their liking no matter how prude, or R rated you are.

Pros: good prices, friendly service, all battery-operated toys are tested before you leave the store

Cons: at times can be crowded

A friend and I casually walked into the store looking for bachelorette party favors, and ended up staying for an hour! I wouldn't say it was the biggest store, but it definitely had a great selection, from massage oils to cards, whips, books, and most importantly, toys! A friendly and young staff made it very comfortable to hang out for a while. I would say this is a great place, for young, old, shy, gay, naughty, or even just to walk in and look around. We ended up purchasing one of the stores' signature kits which are cute packages that came with everything we needed for our bachelorette, but I will definitely be back again to purchase toys for myself!

Pros: selection, staff, price

This is the first time I'm writting a review and I'd like to say this store is terrific. The west village is full of toy shops but this one stands out with helpful knowledgable informative staff who take any 'ick-factor' out of shoppng. The layout is very user friendly with samples of product out for buyers to get a 'hands- on' feel before buying. A pleasure!

I first called to get directions and the guy on the phone was so warm and pleasant. It is so hard to find helpful and friendly customer service in the city but this place does it like it's supposed to. I didn't feel shy at all asking questions about the products since he was so warm and I felt the place to be very well kept and relaxing, not at all intimidating. I have been to quite a few stores of this kind, some kind of scary, others huge and very posh- but this one was the most inviting and I really got the feeling that they know what they are talking about and make the whole experience feel natural, as it should! Thanks guys-will definately go back. A place I worked at in TX was modelled after this place...that should tell you something!

I've been to the pleasure chest multiple times and each time I've gone the staff has been so welcoming! They truely make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The store has a high end feel which is a great feeling compared to some of the sleezier adult shops in the city. Feel free to ask the staff anything, they are knowledgable and non-judgmental. I highly reccomend The Pleasure Chest and encourage everyone to go there for their for their adult needs!!

My first experience at the pleasure chest was quite enjoyable and welcoming. The Staff at the Pleasure Chest are at ease with the customers and are always ready to give advice and an honest opinion when needed. The atmosphere is a calm one and allows you and your partner to feel comfortable when exploring the different aspects of love making. (Especially if you had previously had difficulty talking about sexual experiences and etc...) After going the first time, I made sure to recommend it to the people I knew (most of whom had a disastrous experience with other adult stores). It is a store that my boyfriend and I continually go to and always find the friendliest staff and the most interesting toys.

Pros: Great Staff, Amazing Atmosphere, Fun New toys and items every visit.

Cons: A little pricy in certain aspects.

I loved experiencing The Pleasure Chest the other night. I stopped in with my husband and a friend after dinner. (Great hours by the way - open late.) It felt wonderful being there. I enjoyed seeing and touching all the vibrators on display. (Yes, you can touch them and listen to them.) The staff is so much fun and so not in-your-face. They are there with their honest, advvice if you need it, but they back off mostly to give you the space you may need. The place is intimate, and comfortable. You can come in with a few friends and laugh and giggle, or just get what you need 1,2,3. You are not rushed or timed. It's just the most fun any pleasure shop could be. We purchase a few vibrators ourselves, of course. I feel so relaxed here, it has opened me up to even more sexual adventures.

Pros: Everthing: selection, display, hospitality

Cons: nothing

I love to frequent the shop for fun little things like lollipops shaped like penises and fun shaped pasta. I have gotten plenty of gag gifts for party bags for adult bday parites and bachelor(ette) parties. I love the layout and the classy look of the shop.

Cons: staff not always helpful

Going to the shop for the first time and the staff was on the phone while I was being checked out. There was no one to assist me with any questions I may have had. I do like the lay out of the shop and items that are sold in the shop. The variety of items to use for parties such as candies, oils and various party favors are definitely a reason to go back.

Pros: The layout of the shop is not trashy
