Great value for a solo travellor
by jericsmall at Citysearch
This little hole-in-the-wall "bed & breakfast" is nothing fancy but you just can't beat the deal. I've stayed here a few times and always gotten a great rate. I get the rooms with the private shower but shared water closet. The bed is tiny but the room feels clean. As are the shared facilities. For a gay man basically just looking for a place to crash at night this little inn is perfect. Right near the nightlife and shopping. Very close to the subway. The guys at the front are helpful and friendly, but not overly so. I've never quite made it up in time for breakfast, but it's included. Book very early for any of the gay holidays. Because of the great deal, I've had trouble getting a room even on normal weekends.
- Pros: All in the price!
- Cons: Very small rooms
A gay-friendly townhouse stay full of Greenwich charm.
by Contributor at Citysearch
The Scene
A favorite lodging for gay travelers, this 19th-century townhouse hotel lies on the border of Chelsea, Greenwich Village and the Meatpacking District. It's perfectly placed within walking distance to bookstores, bars, clubs and restaurants. The friendly staff will do their best to accommodate even the most cantankerous of guests. Make sure you take a Hershey's Kiss from the Viagra container at the front desk.
The Details
The hotel is artfully outfitted with cozy furniture and classic movie posters from Hollywood's golden age--including Ann-Margaret-, Rock Hudson-, Judy Garland- and Angela Lansbury-themed rooms. Take advantage of the opportunity to lounge in the atrium breakfast room, common area and the leafy garden. There are enough amenities here to rival the well-equipped budget chains, including cable TV with HBO and Showtime, air conditioning and a great breakfast. Deluxe rooms also feature microwaves, dining areas and stereos.
Good hotel for the price

Very inexpensive. I stayed in an economy suite without private path (had a very tiny shower in the room). Laundromat 2 blocks away. Very close to the Chelsea nightlife. Phone line quality was poor (could only get 19.2 connection to work) so don't expect to work while you're here.
- Pros: Very Inexpensive, Near Chelsea nightlif
- Cons: Some rooms w/o bath
