Don't use their online store
by jasmine88
Worst service ever. They'll send you an email with no info about your order. They'll ship it to the wrong address. When you try to address or correct their error, they are hostile and rude. So before you think of sending their spices to other states...think again, and forget it.
- Pros: Unique variety of spices, chutneys, mediterranean food
- Cons: Overpriced and hostile; when in error will not make correction
SUPERB! Must for all mediterranean food lovers

Kalustyan's is a must for all europeans, middle easterners and ANYbody who enjoys mediterranean that type of cooking. Kalustyan's has the greatest selection of spices, feta cheese and other mediterranean delicacies like lahmajun, humus, etc.
- Pros: Great service, Fantastic selection, Delicious foods
- Cons: None!

Specialty-food emporium includes international goods from Guatemala to Yugoslavia. Spices, herbs, beans, teas, sweets. Cookbooks and cookware.
one of NYC's jewels

Whatever your culinary needs, this place has it. Spices, nuts, sauces, rice, etc. It's all here. But don't just come for that. Amazing food as well. Sandwiches, breads, cheeses, soups... ok, I've made myself hungry. I have to go there now.
Simply amazing

I came to the city from Spain and I was searching for places to buy spices and herbs. Somebody told me about Kalustyans so I went there. Incredible. If you're looking for a rare herb you'll find it there.
One of my favourites in NY.
- Pros: Variety, Situation
A FABULOUS Find for gourmets & gourmands

Do NOT Miss this culinary shopping treasure in amongst the other neighborhodd Indian restaurants and grocers. Kalustyan's stocks rare (and not-so-rare) spices, herbs, Asian and Mediterranean food products, home-made flatbreads and pastries. (7 kinds of baklava) There is a reasonably priced cafe upstairs selling falafel, hummus sandwiches, grape leaves, olives, feta and more. You can even find hair dye and beauty products (think Henna...) from Indian and Pakistan. This place is terrific!
- Pros: Variety, Rare Spices, Delicious
- Cons: Can be crowded
spice world

It's fun to wander among the nuts, dried berries and chutneys, but when I used to work near here, my favorite thing was ordering falafel in back (now it's upstairs). The older gent behind the counter is a real character who can crack up everyone in line. The falafel's great, but the mujudara (an aromatic lentil dish) is even better. Also try the pickles and olives.
