ok, poor service
by nygiants08
This place is just your standard diner. Eggs usually come out cold, home fries are just ok and the toast is always dry. The service is the worst, waiters throw the drinks at you. So try it if this is your style. Enjoy
Cozy neighborhood hang
by newyorknatively
As a lover of New York diners, I have to give Moonstruck high marks. The space itself is pretty imaginative and cozy as a modern diner. The food is reliably good and there are some great healthy options.
Rude Phone Girl
by padrona
The food is fine..typical diner fare but if you have the misfortune of having to call for a delivery order, good luck. The same girl answers the phone every time with a strange accent and demands that you call back because she can't hear you because of all the noise in the background at the diner. It's ridiculous. Then you must wait on hold endlessly for her to return on the line and then tell you not to yell. She is hideously rude and should be fired. I have stopped ordering from there because of her.
- Cons: The phone girl
Count Your Change
by cowee
I have only gone to this diner for breakfast. The food is expensive but dependable as is the service. However, it is important when visiting this restaurant that you put your money on the counter and have the cashier give you the change before letting her put the money in the cash register. I had just come from the bank and had all twenty dollar bills in my wallet. My bill came to $21.56. I gave the cashier $40 and she gave me $8.44 back. My wife was with me and we explained she had made a mistake and she became very nasty and belligerent and refused to give us the right change. I am hoping this was an honest mistake but I feel by her response and that of the manager on duty that something else may be taking place. I will never eat at this restaurant again. There are many diners in New York serving good food that would treat a repeat customer more honestly and without such disrespect.
- Pros: Average food good service
- Cons: Keep your money on the counter until you receive your change
Moonstruck on Madison
by qtgurljny
Based on the Madison ave. locale, Moonstruck is a reliable diner to go for brunch/post-hangover/breakfast food. Newly renovated and fairly large, Moonstruck is a reliable staple when all you want is some comfort food. Compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood this one stands out. Prettier than your average diner it's great for brunch and that "sweatsuit-type" dinner out.
Reliable
by ispeakadatruth
Moonstruck in Murry Hill is a true reliable dining experience. They have good diner fare. While the service is fast, it may be inattentive at times, especially during late hours. The burgers are great and the fries are excellent. Delivery is also highly reliable.
- Pros: Reliable, Inexpensive
- Cons: Inattentive Service
Great Food, Fast
by thebbc
Great Fries, omelettes, grilled cheese, huge salads. The service sucks but that is what you get when all they care about is volume and it is cheap to boot! Best Fries in the city, hands down!!!
