I had an awesome time singing a long and dancing at Joshua Tree. The drinks were slightly pricey for the atmosphere. The staff was also pretty rude to us for pretty much no reason at all.
- Pros: music
- Cons: the staff
Great times!!!!!!

Having just moved to Murray Hill was looking for a bar to call my own. Joshua Tree fits the bill. Was there a number of times over the past two months and havent been disappointed yet. Always gets a good crowd (although sometimes to much of a crowd) was also there for the yankee world series win and there was a great atmosphere. Definately my new local.
- Pros: Good food, great for sports, friendly staff.
- Cons: Sometimes to busy
Plenty of creepy guys.

Back in college we went to joshua tree all the time. somehow, I still wind up there from time to time when I'm completely bombed out of my face. the place is kind of dump, in a generic, murray hill bar kind of way. the crowd is probably about half bridge and tunnel & half college students. If you go there with female friends be prepared for extremely aggressive guys who try to dry hhump anything that moves. But maybe I'm just sore because I recently had my jacket stolen after i left it on a seat for about 10 minutes. classy place, classy crowd. also, the food at Joshua tree makes Guantanamo Bay seem like Le Bernardin.
- Pros: Plenty of creepy guys, sweeet.
- Cons: the place is full of cretins.
Perfect pre/post show spot.

Good food, good service. Go for the pre-fixe menu, it's fairly priced and they serve generous portions. A perfect place to hang out with friends for dinner and drinks. Good place if you're going to a show cause it's right around theater district. Enjoy!
- Pros: Nice bar
- Cons: Slower service on the weekends
drinks, staff, people yes!!!

Lot of Expats

Crowded. Packed with out-of-towner recent college grads who just moved to New York for their first jobs.

A moderately fun place to hang out but nothing special. I visited on a Saturday night which is apparently 80s night and must admit that while campy the barrage of great old 80s videos blaring from what seem to be dozens of screens all around the joint was entertaining and refreshing. The crowd is decent enough - most patrons I encountered were just looking to have a good time and enjoying themselves like human beings unlike the swarm of meatheads and ditzy girls I usually encounter at places like Joshua Tree. The downside When I say crowd, however, I mean CROWD. I was taught in high school that the laws of physics dictate no two objects can occupy the same space at the same time but after visiting Joshua Tree I'm pretty sure the laws of physics don't apply there, because this place was PACKED - A fire hazard and a half. The drinks there were also a little on the unreasonable side in terms of price. A full night at JT will definitely clean your wallet out. Otherwise the place is adequate. Bartenders are reasonably friendly and for a place as crowded as it was the bouncers were not overbearing or rude at all. If you're the sort of person who can put up with sardine-can like crowding and pricey drinks for the sake of a fun crowd and lots of pretty girls, this place is for you.
- Pros: Ambience, Music, Fellow Patrons
- Cons: CROWDED, Expensive
Love the bartenders

- Pros: The staff are great
- Cons: crowded at the weekends
Cure that frat-house withdrawal syndrome and relive your college-drinking days in a friendly environment.

The Scene
A commitment to all things collegiate makes Joshua Tree look less like the California desert it's named for and more like the basement of the Sigma Chi house. If you're ever going to find a place where people still throw out such lines as, "You wanna come back to my place and watch a movie?" this would be that place. Everyone's intelligent and polite enough, though, to make settling in over a game easy.
The Draw
There are more than 20 microbrews on tap. Drink wine at your own peril.
