wonderful weekend getaway

we decided on the Affinia Dumont because of the great value for a one bedroom suite. (cheaper than most average rooms elsewhere). we were so excited to see a modern and very spacious room. we had a full kitchen, a full living room equiped with all up to date electronics and a gorgeous bedroom. the rooms were huge and way more luxurious than most hotels in NYC. The service was so friendly from the doorman to the maid service. nothing was left out. My friends stayed in a studio suite and their room was just as beautiful and very big. There is an Oasis day spa in the hotel!!! the views and the location were gorgeous. high class without the high end price!!

Not bad, not bad

In an unsual location but a good hotel. If you are out to get spatious rooms with lots of amenities this is it. Very kind staff that helps you out makes your stay pleasant. I like this hotel despite it's awful reception and the fact that you have to take a taxi for most things. I recommend it for longer stays as it gives you lots of room (nice beds actually) and many options (kitchenette is very good to have) how to live during your stay. But not good for busniess meetings. Also, i won't inpress your date! But I guess you can meet him/her at the Ritz Carlton, and you can pretend you stay there.

Great Experience

I could not have been more pleased at my choice of hotel for my parents 50th anniversary. From the warm personal greeting from Scott (I hope I have his name right) at the front desk, to the yellow roses, champagne, and personal greeting from the hotel manager, they were treated as someone special right from the start. The room was magnificent, larger by NY standards and very clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the Chrysler building. But what truly made the experience great was the kind, attentive, and always smiling staff, and they should be commended for it. We will be back again and again, and I will be sure to recommend your hotel to everyone.
