What users are saying:
Very pleasant stay
by mr_meursault
My experience may be somewhat atypical because I received an upgrade to a suite. It was absolutely huge, particularly for New York. The hallway smelled of smoke, but the room was ok. The bed was fairly comfortable. The price was quite good. I did not expect much of a two-star hotel so this place certainly exceeded my expectations. the hotel certainly displayed no trace of luxury but as far as modest accommodations go, it was very good.
- Pros: Price, Large Rooms
- Cons: Not luxurious
New York Treasure
by ckconger
I was pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of the rooms and entire building. The location coundn't be better. There is also a small workout room which leads to a patio on the ground level. The staff were friendly and helpful. I look forward to a return trip. I have stayed other places that were more expensive but this can't be beat. Please don't come here as I want to keep this a secret!
- Pros: location, size, price
The ideal hideaway hotel for longer stays.

The Scene
This 31+-year-old property is located on a surprisingly quiet block. The Murray Hill location is perfect for UN associates or anyone doing business in this part of the city. It offers both short- and long-term rates.
The Details
The staff may not be made up of the friendliest people you've ever encountered, but don't let that completely turn you off. All of the rooms have fully stocked kitchens including microwaves. As well, they're equipped with individual climate control, a true plus during the sweltering summer months. The decor can border on tacky--think 1980s and bright colors. But the 125 accommodations are clean and comfortable. Despite the location in a residential neighborhood, the rooms in front are (relatively) noisier. For supreme serenity, ask for a room toward the back.
A Gem!

What a steal! This hotel is in a prime location just a couple of blocks from Grand Central Station, the Chrysler Building, and tons of fabulous restaurants and attractions. We couldnt believe the size of the rooms or the full kitchens full size refrigerator, stove, utensils, etc. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotless, and the views were gorgeous. Our first room overlooking Lexington was a little noisy from the traffic, but we asked for another room and were given a spacious interior room overlooking a nice little park that was relatively quite. Theres absolutely no doubt that well stay at this hotel again when we visit New York!
- Pros: Outstanding Service, Enormous rooms, GREAT location
