Worst rip-off ever.

by risma12

I'm usually not the kind of guy who takes his time to write review on hotel but this one deserves it. My friends and I paid $350 for a room of 4 persons and we've almost been kicked out because we invited a guest after 9PM to stay a couple hours in the room with us. The staff insulted us, start yelling and pretend he would call the police! I've never been insulted like that in my life as a client!

Moreover, the room was really dirty and gloomy... definitly not worthed the money!

TERRIBLE DO NOT STAY HERE

by NYCII

I booked a room with this hotel today, then called back to cancel. The first person to take my call was extremely rude, claimed he owned the hotel and would not transfer me to anyone else, then hung up on me. I then spoke to a colleague of his, who was also extremely aggressive. They refused to offer me a refund, claiming that I would have to cancel the booking 48 hours before staying in the hotel, which would have been 2 days ago. In effect I would have had to cancel before making the reservation. DO NOT STAY HERE.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Extremely unhelpful, very rude staff

Hostel prices in hotel accommodations.

by Contributor

The Scene
Budget-minded travelers can rejoice. This East Side hotel has single and double rates that rival those found at most of the city's hostels. You won't find backpackers partying late into the night, though. Instead, you can count on a quiet, clean room. Perhaps because of its location, this hotel is popular with UN staff.

The Details
The personnel is friendly, although it's often difficult to hear them through the thick glass wall that separates the front desk clerks from the guests. The rooms are decent enough, but nothing you'd want to call home for any extended period of time. Not all accommodations have private bathrooms, so make sure you specify in advance (and expect to pay more). There are complimentary laundry services on the premises.

What a deal.

While traveling to NYC my friends and I stayed at the Seton Hotel. When we saw the small lobby we were concened that the room might be small, too. We were glad that the rooms turned out to be just fine. What impressed me most was the staff we met the next morning. They were extremely helpful and friendly. Eddie recommended some great clubs, Ghita told us to "wear a jacket, you don't want to catch a cold", just like my mom would have said. The hotel was walking distance to so much, and the subway was just 2 blocks away, very convenient! But most of all PRICE, PRICE, PRICE!!! Unbelievable. I'll be back, hopefully soon.

  • Pros: Price, Location, Friendliness
  • Cons: Small Lobby
