BEST SPA IN THE CITY
by joedefran at Citysearch
I am one of the new minority owners of the new CHILL SPA and hooked up with the most professional couple in the spa insdustry, Christine and Howard Kohlenberg. When they found out they could not renew their lease at le petite spa store one they came up with a professional exit strategy. For two months they gathered as many emails as they could from their customers to keep them updated on their plans to open a new location under a new name. They also decided to honor all previous series and gift certificates to their loyal clients. There will always be bumps in the road with a change of this magnitude, CHILL SPA has the right attitude; they try their best to satisfy their customers. For the client who is not happy with the way we handled her as a customer we offer you a complimentary service to see are beautiful new location.
We are located on 40a East 33rd street New York New York 212-213-2000
- Pros: Great service, Friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices
- Cons: I challange anyone to find one
Agreed w/ fellow reviewer CLOSED
by lehlani at Citysearch
I have to agree with spaone, I cannot believe this place is closed. I also bought a package from them and feel like I got ripped off over $200 (still had the majority of my package available), especially since I received no notification of closing or moving (called earlier this year and no one said anything to me). However, I called the other location that is no longer associated with them and they seemed very nice. Towards the last year and a half, they have been lazy on giving courtesy calls to clients about their spa appointments. If they do reopen, I hope they notify their clients with open bills. After this scenario, if they do reopen I will never go there again, or will once just to get my money back.
- Pros: spa workers that were there were friendly
- Cons: no notification, bad customer service by reception, snooty attitude by reception
CLOSED!
by spaone at Citysearch
I was shocked to find my regular placed closed, and angry that I had a package of services prepaid and left uncompleted! I called their other location, only to find they are under new ownership and haven't been associated with this location for half a year. They were very polite, and listened to my ranting about losing money, and invited me to visit them. Then, they told me Valerie was working there! Just the one I wanted to see! Now I have a bigger, better place to go!
- Pros: Former other location better
- Cons: Closed
Perfect Brows

I have been going to Le Petite Spa for about 3 years now & have been complimented about my eyebrows ever since. Each time I go into Le Petite Spa I am greeted by Howard & Chris, the owners, & they not only remember my name but what was going on in my life the last time I was in. They are very nice, friendly people. I also get bikini waxes here & my estitian is sweet, skilled & professional. She uses quality wax that is fast drying which makes an uncomfortable experience move along a lot faster. I have had nothing but positive experiences here & would recommend this spa to anyone.
- Pros: The spa asks that people not use cell phones while waiting for their appointments.
- Cons: People often ignore the do not cell phone sign & talk on them anyway.
Small in size, big on unique European services.

The Scene
Le Petit Spa is nestled in the back of the Dumont Plaza Parfumerie, an oasis for beauty junkies in Murray Hill. The Parfumerie stocks chic brands. A door in the back leads to the reception area, behind which lie a few cozy treatment rooms and a nail service alcove. The friendly, accommodating spa is more "comfy cocoon" than claustrophobic.
The Services
A menu larger than the spa's name implies, with an emphasis on innovative French services. Facials range from the classic European Deep-Cleansing to the exclusive toning-rehydrating Aromaplasty, as well as specific solutions for mature, oily, dry or sensitive skin. In addition to scrubs and solid massage services, the body treatments include a series of slimming, detoxifying and contouring masks/wraps which use algae and other marine botanicals. Nail and waxing services are also available.

I FOUND THIS COOL DAY SPA IN MURRAY HILL RECENTLY AND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME.THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND TENDED TO MY EVERY NEED.I HAD THE BEST FACIAL EVER AND LOOKED AMAZING WHEN I LEFT. I WILL DEFINETLY RETURN AND SAMPLE SOME OF THEIR OTHER TREATMENTS.

Great Place,Great People
by mk123 at Citysearch
Don't be fooled by some of these reviews. This place is GREAT!!!!I've lived in Murray Hill for years and the reason LE PETIT SPA has been around for over 8 years is because they really are good. The only thing that is true is that disgruntled employee,s,competitive spa's in the neighborhood, etc can use citysearch to try and give good places a bad name.So all I can say is take ALL reviews with a grain of salt and see for yourself.
- Pros: Experienced Staff and pleasant environment

Rude, Stressfull Environment
by mcarlo at Citysearch
The staff is rude and downright insulting. Very disorganized. The facial was average. The therepist had no interest and solving the real problems. She told the same story about our skin problems to all my friends. If you want to destress and be treated with respect don't waste your money here. There are planty of Spas in the city.
worst bikini wax ever
by joberdorf at Citysearch
I've probably had 40 bikini waxes in my life, and this was, by far, the worst. The spa uses hot wax that hardens and peels off. However, b/c the spa was so hot, the wax wouldn't dry or harden. This meant I had half-dry wax peeled off my skin in numerous yanks. If you've ever had a wax, you know how painful this is. Plus, it looks as if I wasn't even waxed. I certainly wouldn't wear a bikini in this state. Considering the pain and the lousy job, I would really like to tell other womenSTAY AWAY from this spa!
