Awful customer service and NO MORALS!
by ny0123
Awful customer service and NO MORALS! Long story short I had a lunch delivery order that took 3 hours to get to me (after multiple calls), plus I was blamed for stealing an extra salad because the delivery guy had gone to the wrong floor and given it to someone else! THEN, I was contacted by an amazingly sweet manager who apologized and offered to donate a small amount of pastries to a charity event I am hosting, but when I contacted them to confirm it - she was no longer with Mangia and the person who took her place was INCREDIBLY rude and RENEGED on the minimal ($50) donation to the charity! These people make bad food, have horrible customer service, and have no morals!
Worst burger ever!

Ordered delivery for our company - hasnt worked out well a few times now..both delivery wise - one time an hour early one time an hour late..missing food items and some just plain suck..notably the burgers which could be the worst I have EVER tasted!
- Pros: other sandwiches pretty good - hit or miss
- Cons: long wait to receive, dont take doen order correctly
Great for last minute catering! Executive Assistant's Savio
by rachmac
I suggest Mangia for catered luncheons. My boss asked me to put together a catered lunch for 25 people within 3 hours. Mangia was able to accommodate me and did it with NO problems at all. I have organized luncheons and dinners at fine dining restaurants where I have had issues that were unbearable. My boss and his team raved about the food. It's a little pricey for sandwiches and salads but I must say worth paying the prices for the quality and quick service. I wish I had known about Mangia before today!!! I would like to send my appreciating to the staff at Mangia.
- Pros: Fast Service, Great food, Good Selections
- Cons: Somewhat Pricey
Great Lunch Spot
by CJBoston
This is my favorite lunch spot. I eat here atleast 3 times a week. The best part is the salad bar....so many options...always fresh....filling! If I have time I go upstairs for table service. Recently I have brought many of my clients for luncheons. Its a good way to impress potential clients, enjoy a good meal and stellar service while not spending too much on a lunch like many midtown restaurants.
- Pros: Quality Food, Lots of Selections, Quick & Easy
Great Lunch

I came across this place on my Iphone and it happpened to only be a block away from where we were. I was with my family and those of you have a family of your own you know its hard to find a choice that makes everyone happy. Fortunatly we did! My kids got sandwiches, I got a delicious salad from the salad bar and my husband did the same. The downside is there is no place to sit. or atleast that we saw. Because it was so nice today we just set up camp outside of a gorgeous building on 5th ave. I think we will be back there a couple more times through the week.
- Pros: A choice for everyone. Friendly service.
- Cons: No place to sit.
Do Not GO Here if you except GOOD food or service
by ShaniquaJackson
I just had the worst experience ever. I have heard about this place from a few friends at work so i decided to go check it out... BIGGGG mistake. The food here tastes gross you think your getting one thing you get something else and the staff dont get me started none of them speak english they just stare you down with horrible looks...no one has class or respect... worst place to eat in ALL OF MANHATTAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: NOTHING!!!!!!
- Cons: everything!!!!!!!
Outrageously overpriced and crowded
by ignatiusjreilly
This glorified sandwich joint is a prime example of New York excess: Mangia is LUDICROUSLY overpriced. Having spent time in continental Europe, the food is certainly a reasonable approximation, but having to cough up $10 for a mediocre sandwich or $5 for a soup is beyond the pale - especially given the mean portion size and the crowds of bankers.
To make matters worse, the restaurant is staffed by surly, mean-faced types with a limited grasp of English.
Woeful.
- Pros: Good bread
- Cons: Crowded, overpriced
Hummus?
by mgz
If you are expecting to be served like in a Real Italian Restaurant, You better think again. Perhaps, serving hummus instead of foccacia/olive oil/black olives will let you know that you are not in a authethic restaurant. (dissapointed) Over price for a lunch menu,
including the lunch specials(be smart...ask, ask for the special price). Service is fast according to lunch pressure time but, always a smile from the waiters is pleasant..from their helpers....don't bother waiting.
- Pros: location
- Cons: Crowded, Over priced
Ridiculous!
by sdimov
We are regulars at Mangia -3-4 times, we usually get the delicious but overpriced telera ($.95 +tax)
Today they said a customer complained the sandwich was too big so they are selling half a sandwich for $5.95 + tax, a whole sandwich is now almost $12 plus tax.
They used to have the half Telera before, so this does not make sense.
Today was the last day we went there.
Too expensive and too crowded.
- Pros: good food
- Cons: , crowded, slow
Going Down Hill?
by ADavisPowell
We have an office account with Mangia and I ordered the Shrimp Ceasar Salad yesterday expecting the big grilled shrimp I have become accustomed to getting from Mangia. Well I got get this itty bitty little looked like frozen or can shrimp that was not grilled at all. Hugh disappointment! Are they going Down Hill? I'm thinking. Hey ever wonder when they get bigger they get worse, when they really should get better!
