I passed by this place many times and finally made an appointment for a highlight and haircut. I have naturally dark hair and have had a difficult time getting a stylist to make the color not so drastic where it is obvious that I have highlights, I like the more subtle look. Been to several salons, even ones that are insanely expensive and never really was happy. But this place really understands color! The stylist sat down, discussed different types of color, really explained her opinion and asked mine. Bottom line this place is professional, not pushy, prices are good for what the place offers. Great place if needs highlights and good guidance on what color options there are.

I find this funny. If you take a look at the reviews in their favor, many of them follow the same pattern- poor spelling, and sentences often beginning with uncapitalized letters...which leads me to believe that this place writes reviews for themselves!!.. . I had the displeasure or landing in Esther's hair chair as well and it was right up there with breaking my leg in second grade. So unprofessional, rude, a simple waste of money. This supposed manager you are supposed to complain to is virtually nonexistent- as are the brains of the employees that work here.

I am a big clean freak and cant stand and inch of dirt. So that makes me very picky about where I go to get my nails. My friend, Samantha, told me that the salon that she goes to is very nice and a clean facility. I made an appointment to have my nails done. I went and an asian woman started to do my manicure I saw that her table was clean and that her tools were sanitized and even before she stared to use them on me she sanitized them again because I told her I was a big clean freak. I was very happy with my manicure, she filed the exact shape that I wanted and the color looked so beautiful there was nothing on my nail beds it was painted on perfectly. While I was drying my nails I saw examining the salon and saw that it is a very clean salon and they even have a cleaning woman who cleans after everyone and everything. I was very satisfied with my manicure and at how clean the salon was.

Pros: Its a clean and beautiful salon

Hey everyone my name is Samantha, I had a misunderstanding with my boss one day and all that stress affected my back. I had such horrible knots in my back that I could barely move my neck. I went back to my desk and my assistant saw that I was really stressed out and recommended me to go to her salon. She told me they have massages and that the massaues are really good. I went and I told them about my back pains and they offered me a variety of massages and recomended me to have the hot lava stone massage. They told me it would relive me of my back and neck pains. I decided to give the hot stone a try. All I have to say is that it was such a great massage, She got all the knots out and the hot stones were really relaxing. I've never felt so relaxed, I'm very happy with the results. I will deffinantly come back.

The above review written on 9/21/08 is a show of jealousy from an ex employee, who I will not name out of respect for the salon and her. There was always hatred towards Esther, and after when she was fired she wanted to take out her anger somehow and she thought that if she would write this review she would get her revenge. (We heard that she got a job around in another salon, and she was fired from there as well).

I was overdue for a manicure pedicure, so I decided that I would use my lunch break to get one. I went online and looked for the closet place and found this one. When I got there, they took me right away, which I liked. However, upon sitting in the pedicure chair, I noticed that the tub was filthy. So, I figured they just hadn't cleaned it yet and kept my feet on the side. Before I know it, the nail technician was filling it with water and asking me to drop my feet into it. I asked if it had been cleaned and she said yes, that it was just stained! I thought, okay, I'm here, let's just do it. Then, the technician tried to talk me into getting a champagne spa pedicure because my feet were "very dry." I said no thank you and stuck with the regular old fashioned kind. The technician proceeded and when it came to the pumice stone part, she simply put some lotion on the stone and dragged it across my feet ONCE (not exaggerating) and put my feet back in the water. So, after telling me that my feet were dry, she spent no time trying to help that with the tool made for such a task. Fine. Then, I had two colors that I wanted to choose from. She put the first one, a very pale pink, on my big toe and I didn't like it. I decided to go with the other. She didn't even take the first color off! She just put the darker one over it! After I was finished with both the manicure and pedicure, I gave my debit card for payment and asked to add a $5.00 tip to the total. The Asian woman who was taking my card said "That's all?" I didn't think it was possible that I heard right so I said "Sorry?" She replied, "You're only giving five dollars?!" Again, I had to have misheard so I said, "excuse me?" And she said, "It's $30, you're only giving $5." I was in such shock by how rude she was that I just shut up and turned around. I literally didn't know how to respond.Never going back!

I would just love to show some parise to Esther, the hairdresser who works at 5th Ave Beauty Salo. She has been doing my hair for a year now. She is just wonderful. My color is fabulous, my highlights are even better. She also does my eyebrows, which is a great plus for me. Over all I am very happy with the results.

Iam a regural tanning customer here and I have been coming here for the past two years. Iam very satisfed with my color. The packages that they offer are very affordable, there is a big variety of lotion bottles to choose from. The best part is that now they are giving 10% off any beauty treatments to tanning customers. I get my hair, nails, and wax done and when it comes time to pay I get 10% off from my bill. I couldnt be more happy.

Their is a woman by the name of Rachel working here and she has been since 1996, she is a very experienced technician.. she now is the manager of the salon. am well aware of the problems the average woman face when it comes to presenting one self perfectly. To all the people who gave this place 5 stars...... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? I came here to get my waxing first time ( and that would be the last time) and asked for someone really good with eyebrows. Rachel was the lady who took me and 'seemed' really nice and said she has tons of experience and I shouldn't worry. Not only did she ignored me when I explained what shape I wanted, she also began pointing out that I need to get my lip done as well. When I explained that I need to get back to work and will be extremely red if I get it done, she assured me that it will not happen. End result.... my eyebrows were a disaster with lots of gaps in between which will take months to grow back, AND I ended up going to work with really really red lip and had to cover myself with a tissue for the rest of my work day!

Cons: Inexperienced, pressure into doing other services
