i've been told by many people that MOOD was the place to go if your looking for fabric, so i recently just went and i couldn't find the stuff i need , i decided to ask for some help. The sales person gave me this look like im not professional enough to shop at their store.

MUST ASK FOR LENA

I spent an hour searching (and not finding) what I needed in Mood. The salesperson was horrible, actually asked a gorgeous blonde if she needed help standing right next to us, then walked away from myself and my struggling to reach a particular fabric Grandmother. He had to be flagged down and was NOT helpful WHATSOEVER and walked away before i was even done asking him a question. He ignored my grandmother. THEN, it all turned around when we found Lena. She was over in the novelty fabric area and she was an absolute JOY to help us. She knew her stuff, was very pleasant, helpful and sweet. She found us the PERFECT fabric in minutes that we couldnt find in an hour. She was a lifesaver. ASK FOR HER and you'll always return to Mood.
- Pros: LENA IS GREAT
- Cons: OTHER SALESPEOPLE ARE NOT HELPFUL
Sales Lady Wouldn't Listen to Me

I went to Mood with a swatch of electric blue charmuse and asked a sales lady to show me ANY FABRIC that would come close to the COLOR. She argued with me that they wouldn't have the same color in charmuse. When I told her I don't care what fabric it was, as long as it was close to the COLOR of the swatch. She kept arguing with me pulling out swatches only of charmuse saying she couldn't match the color in charmuse... Finally I took my swatch and looked for it myself.
- Pros: Wide Selection
- Cons: Dig for it, Sales Lady Wouldn't Listen

Products are good, employees are lazy and are super condescending. They really need to hire better people.
- Pros: Products
- Cons: Employees, Customer Service
Rude Service

I visited this store recently and was unimpressed by the quality of the staff. The fabric collection is huge but service is below average and down right rude. One of the attendants even made fun of me when I asked if they had any low priced cotton fabrics. At checkout, I asked the same attendant (politely!) to measure the fabric length again, he started arguing with me resulting in my walking out of the place. The place left a very bad taste in my mouth. At the very least, the staff should know how to talk to customers!!!
Terrific Selection...But You Pay For It

Recently visited Mood. Upon entry saw Angela from Project Runway. The selection here is tremendous and the staff really is quite friendly. Located on the third floor, so you'll need to take the elevator to get there. And dress lightly because when I visited it was pretty warm inside. I'm new to the NY fabric scene so difficult to compare. But in relation to other fabric stores I visited in other cities it was expensive, but I suppose you pay for locale and designer fabric.
- Pros: Selection, Customer Service, Location
- Cons: Prices

This store literally has all types of fabrics for all of your clothing or upholstery needs. They have fabrics from all over the world and whatever they don't have they can order for you. You will have to dig because there system is not the most organized. But the staff will help you out upon request. The store is located on the third floor.

Mood fabric offers fabric from the most well known designers in the game. Prices are very reasonable and are in fact pretty good. Prices are so good that fabrics often go below their wholesale listings, so feel free to shop without a budget. They have wools, silks, and great trims.
