Looks can be deceiving

Good location, if you are a turist it will put you right in the middle of all the turist attractions in Manhattan's times square but the rooms are very old. The website pictures are taken at a very good angle and you can't really tell. No complaints on the customer service, although my boyfriend and I spent as much time out of the room as possible.
- Pros: location
- Cons: very old
Great rates for a wonderful location
by enjoy2travel
Had to swith rooms because the first one smelled really dusty, though appeared clean. Without any problem, hotel personnel accomodated our request and it couldn't get any better after that. The location is super. The check-in was a little messy b/c they seem to have more demand that they can accomodate at once, but were told to come back a little later and never again had a problem. Breakfast at Nicole is good. The location is close to everything and very helpful concierges. The price, for NY, very reasonable. Too bad they are closing down for a year, or so, for remodeling. Would definitely stay there again. Don't expect luxuries, or spot cleaning. But, nothing you can't deal with. Hey, it's NY.
French comfort over Times Square.

The Scene
Ten-foot-high murals of La Belle epoque provide warmth and a sense of place to the seventh-floor lobby of this French-inspired Times Square-area hotel. Grab an international newspaper at the breakfast buffet that features French and American specialties. The hotel welcomes families, as children under 16 stay in their parents' room and have breakfast for free. Cafe Nicole sports a bird's-eye view of Broadway's frenzy and offers special coloring books and other kids' perks.
The Details
The 480 rooms are spacious and airy. Many have fine views of the Hudson River and the city. Double-pane windows ensure peace and tranquility in one of the world's busiest spots. The accommodations display modern furnishings, including attractive draperies and rugs. Extra amenities include in-room safes, two phones with data ports, Wi-Fi, and hair dryers in the bathrooms. The business center rents out laptops.

French Flair in the Theater District!
by roberto
We've stayed at other Novotels before and wanted to try the one in New York. It was a pleasant stay in a great, vibrant part of the city. We were going to stay downtown to avoid the hussle of Times Square but we were relaxed and well taken care of here. It's a beautiful, oasis in the middle of the Theater District. The restaurant and bar are great too. We highly recommend it.
