I stopped in today because I needed an emissions inspection and I have a bad oxygen sensor that needs to be replaced in my Jeep before inspection. I showed up shortly before 7, since these guys don't take appointments and work on a "first come, first served basis". I had already been to an auto parts store to use the free plug in diagnosis so I knew that this was the problem, but don't have a place to work on the car in the city. I asked how much to change the sensor and do the inspection but was very suprised to have my business turned away because, in John's own words he" wouldn't make any money without doing a full diagnostic and selling me parts." When I asked him how much all of this would cost he told me that he wouldn't help me since I had already figured out what was causing my check engine light to come on. All of this seemed very suspicious, as I have worked on many of my cars in the past and knew that this was not a big job. In my opinion, these guys are looking for people to overcharge for unnecessary work and are very rude. You should have seen John's reaction when I told him that I would leave him negative reviews....
Pros: Garage looks nice from the street.
Cons: Rude and unhelpful once inside. No appointments.

These guys simply lack knowledge on tires and tire repair They only know how to trick you into buying their new tires and they didn't offer to give my old tire back. They kept it for some strange reason. Worst customer service ever. the person at the front desk was extremely rude.
Pros: None. I hated this place
Cons: They took forever! and they seem to not know how to repair tires

Scammed Me into paying $21 for a service they cannot complete I needed a simple flat fix and they told me my tire was no good and I had to buy a $109.00 New Tire. I took the same tire downtown and they fixed it right up. Drove off onto the highway and back home with no problems. These guys are a really major RIPOFF SCAM ARTISTS BEWARE WHEN LOOKING FOR AUTO REPAIR SHOPS!
Pros: NONE
Cons: Lie to customers and unwilling to help unless you show them cash

To be fair, I had nothing but good service from the two older gentlemen that ran the business for years before retiring and leaving the store to what I assume was the next generation or new owners. I had shopped there without a complaint. Whatever the case, after they left I had bought two new front replacement Michelin tires for my 20 year old Mercedes that I keep in excellent condition. On a long drive away from NYC I noticed a bad shimmy from the front end. When I went to a local tire repair shop the mechanic showed me that one of the new front tires was the wrong size for the car and the other tire was mounted backwards.Tire selection and mounting is not brain surgery. Next.

Got a whole set of new tires there. Had to go back 3 times. Once to replace a bad valve. Then there was a leak which they said they fixed, but didn't. Eventually had to get a replacement tire because the balance weight clip they put on wrong damaged the new tire. On the good side they didn't give me a hard time about it, were apologetic and eventually fixed the problem. But I wouldn't go back there.
Pros: eventually fixed problems
Cons: sloppy work created problems

Just pulled into Cybert today looking to have a tire leak checked. Front desk was extremely rude and dismissed my concerns and basically cursed at me, telling me to "get out". I only asked a few simple questions like how they check for leaks and their warranty policy in case the leak returned. There are many options in NYC, and I will not return to this shop.
Pros: None. Did not do business due to staff rudeness
Cons: Rude, rude, rude!

it's not even worth calling these guys. they are so rude on the phone that they don't deserve your business. they have been in business for nearly 100 years and have no idea how to answer a phone and answer simple questions. they will yank you around. I hope they don't make it to the century mark. I really don't.
Pros: none
Cons: all

I just read a prior review from (SIRVINIM) i just read a review from the above and need to defend the guys at cybert tire. John at cybert goes out of his way for me always. and if there is a problem that requires aditional time, he address's it right away at no additional charge. Did he call John at 212-265-1177 and explain his problem before writing a negative review. NO he didnt. This guy is not cool! Johns family has been in the business since 1916 serving the community. and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Kristin.
Pros: Great Service
Cons: John doesnt take time off. He is busy taking care of customers.

My wife and I took our Mini Cooper in for a new tire on a Saturday. As I drove up the West Side Hwy and got up to 50 mph, the car started shimmying and the tire pressure warning light came on. It appeared that the tire wasn't balanced properly. I called back to Cybert Tire and they said to bring the car back in. I couldn't go back in right away due to a previously scheduled engagement. After spending $217 I expected better service from them. Two days later, on Monday, I decided to just take the car to Mini of Manhattan. They said a wheel sensor was displaced which caused the wheel sensor to go off. They also balanced the tire properly and the shimmying stopped. I like to avoid going to the dealer whenever possible and was hoping Cybert Tire would do a good job replacing our tire but they didn't even get that right. I won't be going back there.
Pros: They took my car in quickly
Cons: Service was below par and had to go to dealer to fix problem
