Small but good food.

There's nothing to rave about this place. Just a small cozy place to have really good indian food at reasonable prices. Went there for lunch and will definitely go back again. The service nice as well.
- Pros: food, prices
Great food, great price!

Kiran has become my favorite delivery and dine-in restaurant in my neighborhood. The food is great-try tikka masala, malai and meat and veggie samosas. The prices are better than any I've seen in Midtown. The $6.95 lunch feeds me two meals! The only problem I have is they can be inconsistent with spice, something will be perfect one day but extremely spicy the next (or bland), even when ordered the same way. Otherwise, Kiran is a true find!
Soso Indian food on fancy plates
by jakedrake at Citysearch
Kiran is a nice little joint for indian near times square. I ordered the mushroom saag lunch special and requested it spicy. The food was only adequate. The saag wasn't exactly flavorful or spicy and the naan is sub par. The price of the lunch special makes this about bearable as everything (including a small "salad") was 6.95 and there were a good amount of choices. The most attractive aspect of Kiran is the interior. The room is comfortable and nicely decorated, especially the plates are quite nice if you are into that kinda thing. There's also a tv screen playing bollywood that you can gravitate to if you think there might not be much to say and you need a conversation piece. The service was attentive and the ubiquitous indian water refill is well represented here. All in all I would come here again but I will also double check to make sure there isn't anything better around.
- Pros: Cheap lunch special; fancy interior; plates!
- Cons: Bland; Disappointing naan
Worst meal in years

This was an atroicious experience. The tandoori chicken wasn't even tandoori - they must not have a tandoor oven, instead they just poured some red sauce on top of dry pieces of chicken. The naan tasted like styrofoam. And the atmosphere is just as bad - florescent lighting and a weird smell. Don't waste your money!!!!
- Pros: Easy to get a table
- Cons: Everything else
