Absolutely Fantastic! Went on a referral and my family was completely satisfied. Spent a little more for the food but got a show! We would go back for sure. My 9 year old daughter wants to move to NY and work at The Stardust Cafe

I read many reviews on Ellen's and decided that it was the place to take my granddaughter for her 10th birthday. My elderly in laws were here from the west coast, and total in our party was 10. I even called the week before we went to the city to make sure they could seat all 10 of us together for this ocassion. I was told it wasn't a problem. We arrived at 2 on Thursday afternoon, and they tried to seat us ALL in a triangle shaped booth. There was no way we'd all fit. We asked if we might all sit together and they refused to let us move to seats that would accomodate all of us. (those seats were saved for couples only!!!???) My husband, my sister in law, and I, had to sit away from the birthday table! My granddaughter was upset, and the food was undercooked (her hamburger came out almost raw!) The only good part of this restaraunt was the singing. The service and the treatment we got was AWFUL! I wouldn't go there again.

Pros: Singing was great

Cons: Food and service were below average

I usually eat out alot and I like trying new places. I saw this diner after coming out of meeting so I decided to go in. The food was good. I really like the wings and the burger I order was huge. My waiter was really friendly and sweet. I love the music and the singing since I got to sing along. I recommended this place to all my co workers and plan going back many times. It is pricey but its time square so no big deal.

Pros: friendly wait staff

Cons: price

I always bring visiting friendsand family here, and everyone loves it and always wants to come back when the are in the city, including my Grandchildren, the food is as good as the singing and service, it is the most fun you will have while eating. Very enjoyable!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!

Pros: The best fun you will have while eating!!!!!

Cons: sometimes crowded! that is the price you pay! It is still worth the wait!

I have been to Ellen's several times in the past few years. Even though it seems to be slipping a bit, it is still a fun place to go at least once while in NYC. Typical diner fare is ok, but the real fun is the decor and the singing waitstaff. Again, I would say the food, service and quality of singing has gone down over the years. Be sure to sit upstairs in the original dining room if you can because the newer basement level dining room is a dark dungeon.

Pros: broadway location, 50s decor, singing waitstaff

Cons: average food and service, quality of singing has declined

This place never gets old. It is always upbeat and fun. The staff is amazing how they juggle serving and performing the best of karaoke classics. A birthday celebration favorite! If you go pre-show, just let the server know and they'll assist you with time saving menu choices. The food is always consistently good. A bit better than the average diner. The chicken quesadillas are my favorite. The desserts are great as well. The brownie mudslide sundae is one of the best I've ever had. Service is always friendly, if not always fast, and they are always very entertaining. The only drawback is the extremely tight quarters. Going with a party of two may find you sitting with strangers at your table. This may not be the place for you if you require much personal space.

Pros: Great entertainment and great food.

Cons: Always packed. Possibility of eating in tight quarters with strangers.

Went in April 2007 and we loved it! The entertainment was sooo much fun. The breakfast was very good and there was No wait. We went back the next night after a show and the kids had milkshakes while the adults had Irish coffee. I recommend it to everyone that is headed to NYC.

The entertainment was great, but the hosts are terrible. We had a party of 9 and it was really crowded so they "assumed" it would be ok to seat us at different tables. Had we not already waited approx 1 hr to sit, I would have flipped. I heard another party yelling at the hosts telling them they will wait for a table so their children would not be parted from them and the hosts refused. You want to enjoy yourself with your family, that is why you go there. If I am going to pay $15.00 for a hamburger platter then I would like to enjoy my family's company. Anyway, the waiter was awesome. He put a smile on my face after the inital shock. The waiters are quite good at singing and entertaining. The one singer sat by my mother-in-law and sang to her. Overall, it was fun.

i went to ellen's on christmas eve.. it turned out to be better than i expected! the waiters were nice, the entertainment was great , the food and desserts were very good as well ! I also saw Santa eating there as well! it was awesome! The waiters/singers all had great voices and sang really good songs! A entertaining evening for tourists, children, and all age groups!

Pros: entertaining, fun, polite waiters

Cons: wait for the food (like every restaurant)

My husband and I enjoyed Ellen's Stardust Diner very much. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our table was very small as was the walkway near the table, but not that big of a deal. The food was a bit pricey ($13.95 for a hamburger and fries) but it was good. What really made this place for me was the singing waitstaff. They get up and take turns singing. However, I wasn't crazy about the "tip jar" that was passed around twice while we were there. They ask for tips to help pay for there signing/dancing/acting lessons or headshots etc. Of course it's up to you if you wish to help them, but I'm already leaving the server a tip!! All in all, we enjoyed Ellen's and would recommend it.

Pros: Fun show

Cons: They pack them in tightly and a bit pricey. Also, that tip jar passing.
