food was delicious, wine--can't remember the name (darn!)--was flavorful, service was friendly, prompt and attentive, ambience was dim (not dark) and pleasant...all excellent. we didn't have the flaming cheese, but i will during one (or all) of my many returns!

Simply the Best

This unassuming Greek restaurant is a jewel in the City's culinary crown. Friends from out of town preface their intent to visit with a request to go back to Uncle Nick's. The food is incredible, especially the flaming cheese appetizer. Of the hundreds of restaurants that I have visited in NYC, Uncle Nick's is the best. Quality, value (four can eat and drink for less than $100) and unsupassed service make Uncle Nick's a place that anyone who loves good food must go.

Instant-Gratification Greek

Sure, a meal at Uncle Nick's is generally a delight, but it tends to be a long, drawn-out one. At the Ouzaria, you can stop in for a snack or a quick pre- or apres-theater bite and not worry about missing your show or braving the rigors of the late, late night subway. The food's just as tasty, but the pace is faster -- perfect for impatient New Yorkers who want Nick's Lite.
